Trying to balance an NBN deck between tagging full time and doing normal things that we all know and love, like gaining creds and icing up. I chose SYNC to work this tag-as-tax design because it will stand up to the Wireless Paparazzi shenanigans that are starting to show up.

ICE

Pachinko and Resistor to punish tags building up. Quicksand to eat a parasite and save your tagging ice from being trashed. Only 1 code gate to make their decoder work very little. Lots of tagging sentries that will work well for a glacier-style deck, each with on-encounter tagging effects, low rez cost, high strength or a combination of those three. Some ice works to tag, some works to punish tags.

AGENDAS

Global Food Initiative to make the runner work harder for points than you, to encourage more runs against your servers. Restructured Datapool to have another way to throw tags at the runner when scored, and cut down on agenda density to fit more fun cards in this tight deck.

ASSETS

3x Jackson as an auto-include and 3x News Team. News Team is either immediately taxing to the runner as tags, or makes them have to access another GFI to win the game which should be hidden in your centrals until you can score. I'm still thinking of how many News Team to include in a deck for NBN, and I think 3 is the minimum since that's 2 free tags with each copy.

OPERATIONS

Econ is your operations because a smaller deck with Jackson will see those econ cards sooner. Ops are also tagging shenanigans; Big Brother to help snowball from 1 tag, Closed Accounts to make your ice and traces look scary enough to score an agenda behind. Manhunt to throw another tax into runs. Psychographics to help speed out those expensive and slow 5/3s. Lots of fun and I'm sure there's better balances to be figure out yet.

UPGRADES

Crisium to protect against all the scary events, from Wanton Destruction to Account Siphon to Indexing. Cyberdex to help push off the Anarchs that we all know and love.

And that's my take on tag-as-tax. Try it out and build a tag-as-tax yourself.

With only a single ETR, I worry that the runner will run all day on your 5/3s. All they have to do is wait until you install -> advance -> advance something and then go get in. In addition, all they have to have out to break all your ETR ice is a Corroder, which is a pretty common install.
