Corporate Town

This deck's just about not being fucked with.

-Clot? CVS + Team Sponsorship + Breaker Bay to constantly cycle purges FOR FREE YEAH, or just Chronos it after an insta-purge.

-Noise? Look above

-Mimic NRE decks? CVS + Archer

-Currents? Domestic Sleepers. They're also great fodder, or bringing you from 6 to 7 points.

-Runners trashing your shit? Untrash it with Sponsorship

-Faust? Turing, Corporate Town their draw engine, or just Faust tax with every other ICE

-PPVP Kate? Just Chronos her. Seriously. It's a counter.

-Also MaxX.

-Literally any resource? Corporate Town. It is absolutely the hidden MVP of this deck. It ruins so many things, often for the low price of a Domestic Sleepers, which isn't even a wastes score, since it likely triggered some Sponsorships. Wyldside, DLR, Aesops, Tri-Maf, Kati, drip econ. Even that Sacrificial Construct. Fuck it all and burn it.

The deck runs a very aggresive and resilient HBFA, whilst taxing the runner in must-trash assests (SanSan, Sponsorship, the Campaigns) and profitable Rez-vs-break ratios on every piece of ICE, spare Wotan. He's just there so I win a few bets now and again on ABT.

Rule #1. Always fire ABT. Between Sponsorship and Jackson (Even one that's in the trash), you will never have a failed ABT. Even if it hit nothing but Agendas, you still waste a runner's click on Archives, as well as intimidating them by firing ABT in the first place. There are 2 cards in the entire deck that can't be installed. Every Archives install is a Hedge Fund or more, installed Breaker Bay, or the Campaigns

and what is the record of this deck? I see the GNK 2015 tournament badge.

I'm not sold on the 14 agendas which are even more than the number of ICEs you have. And 1 Corporate Town with no tutoring so it's not really that reliable.

And the number of economic cards is just too freakin' low and slow. In a perfect scenario this deck could have a pretty good early game, but with this ratio and so many costly ICEs, I don't see it being consistent enough. In fact, after trying the draw simulator a few times, the result is so bad with almost no usable ICE or 1 ICE at most.

@iceqs It went 4-1, losing to a Valencia Desperado deck that managed to trash very efficiently. It ran Scrubbers and totally owned me since I couldn't slow it down.

I understand the concern on Agendas, but 6 of them either slow the runner down or create no benefit for them, while they still speed you up in the process.

And honestly, it does rely on ETFs natural econ if it can't find a campaign, but once it does, a single Adonis/Eve is usually enough to push through to the end of the game, with recursion. The money stays once it's there, since you can recur faster than you spend more often than not.

It's not a safe playstyle, and doesn't cater to the "Install, money, money" that a lot of HB players (Myself included) have been doing for a long time. You need to draw. A lot.

I piloted this deck to a 5-0 record at an unsanctioned national tournament recently.

@Mordeqai``@chill84 well I guess you can't really underestimate things unless you play it. But if Scrubbers are so much trouble then Whizzard should be this deck's Achilles' heel right?

@iceqs Yes

I played against you on jinteki today. Surprised to see that you are so light on ICE.

Those are that kind of deck I can't play. With those ices my starting hand would be 3 napds and 2 archers.

Seems a bit light on ICE. With 13 ICE and 5 of those ICE being situational (need an agenda to forfeit with Enforcer and Archer, need a LOT of credits for that Wotan), I imagine you'd be in a lot of trouble if you drew into your agendas early. Especially since your other 8 ICE are quite porous (click through Eli 1.0 and Turing, Architect doesn't ETR either).

It seems like this deck would really struggle against Runners that are aggressive in the early game and I would think this deck would struggle against Criminals.

I played few games with this deck and it was so much fun. My highlights include:

  • Runner trashing the same SanSan City Grid card 5 times thorugh the game because I kept putting it back with Team Sponsorship.
  • Runner trashing both Eve Campaign and Breaker Bay Grid before I rezzed them. The very next turn I score Domestic Sleepers with two Team Sponsorship in the game. Naturally, I install Eve Campaign and Breaker Bay Grid again. That was the point at which runner decided to stop trashing stuff.

Seems like it'd be really weak against an aggressive criminal? I think a Gabriel Santiago: Consummate Professional could be a big issue

Confused by this. Are you installing something other than ice with ABT? Or?
