There is nothing we can do (3rd @ Naarm Startup CO)

Shoutout to Pawnshop Shaper engines.

There is nothing we can do

Soundtrack has got to be Amour plastique specifically the slowed version so you really feel the vibes of trying to outrush/outecon/outmindgame your opponent but it is doomed to fail and they will get your agendas.

Unsubtle reference to the last time local powerhouse duo Krover of Fun put a startup events in their sights. Devastatingly the startup banlist couldn't just hit Punitive Counterstrike and leave our deck to sneak through without a scratch so we had to make some changes. Luckily the fact that both Pharos and 6x3 pointer agenda suites were banned made replacing both fairly easy as Archer is the only remaining ice for Weyland that is spenny to break and when you're playing that, you're heavily pushed into moving to Eminent Domain as well. The Slashes only support that gameplan allowing you to score EmDoms from hand in a pinch.

Apart from that, the deck hasn't really changed much at all. But the fact that shaper aesop's engines barely took a hit, the other big Barrier that could potentially tax a Pressure Spike was banned and runners needing fewer accesses to get the w has made decks like this feel hopeless against the powerhouse runner of the meta. It's still a wicked deck, Charlotte is so damn cool, The Holo Man still puts advancement counters everywhere but the surrounding environment can't help but make you look back at once was and feel sad about the new light the deck has been put in.

On the day the list went 2-1, winning both matches in swiss against Ken and mulchy Loup but losing in the cut against Ari. The Ken lost to not drawing any econ early and having to rip Ashen Epilogue by turn 4 just to get a mulligan. The Loup lost because unlike in standard, you can afford to purge whenever any virus program gets installed to clear the cookbook counters off them and keeping Arruaceiras Crews from getting up to too much mischief. The loss to Arissana wasn't helped by the fact I didn't find any EmDoms to score early which might've kept the runner outta my scoring remote a little longer but having the Slashes stolen early meant that both Pressure Spike and Living Mural became cracked and after that I had no chance of doing much of anything.

Thanks heaps to Scarius for running the event and ofc a bunch of thanks to Kror for brewing this with me, playing test games and just chatting through slots and stuff. It's always fun to play in local events but if you force me to talk about corps in the format I will turn full St Louis February Reporter on you.

Hey @HaverOfFun, could you tell Startup we had a great time at his lake house and that I left the keys of the Lambo it lent me under the door mat? Thanks! Startup is really the best friend a Netrunner player could ask for!

@wowarlok hell yeah! I'll tell Startup that as soon as it comes back inside. It's out atm saving all 8 of my cats that got stuck up trees.

wow Isaac, nice include

Yeah @AlPi, Isaac is super cracked at really dissuading early runs before you can start laying on the ice too heavily but also decent at taxing out (non-shaper) runners later on.
