"Mercury is like Sable, only instead of getting an extra click each turn, the corp player looks at you funny at the start of the game"
I've been so busy with prep for the launch of Elevation that I haven't had much time to play the game, so I've really only been playing at my weekly locals - shout out to the Burlington, VT crew! I really haven't been following the meta, though, so I asked QtM what good decks were. They delivered: I got to look at some wonderful Shaper and Anarch decks!
And then tuno entered the chat.
I looked at that list, and as fun as it looks, I've got a particular Theory of Mercury. So I got to brewing. The Nuka was a simulchip until tuno reminded me that girls exist, and Nuka treated me extremely well in the deck. Nuka plus class act just feels so good, and into the Jinteki matchup being able to have the draw on the board makes a huge difference.
I think one of my favorite games in the whole event was into Diogene's Punitive Neurospike PE. I got to 6 points, surviving double Punitive through careful play, until we get to the last turn. Triple advanced card in the remote, Anansi innermost and 3 unrezzed ice. Diogene on 6 or 7 credits: Just about exactly enough to score the last Fujii and spike for lethal, so I've got a puzzle to unpick. I draw up to 4 cards (to survive double Anemone on the way in) and run. He rezzes Anemone, I lose 2 cards, continue. He rezzes Mganga - I have to read it. I lose the psi game, and with him on 2 credits, me with no cards, 1 unrezzed ice and an Anansi I can break and what looks like the game in the remote, I have a choice to make.
"There's only one Mganga in the list," I say. "Continue the run."
Diogene rezzes Mganga.
> "I play 3 of everything"
- Diogene.
Really fun event in a great city with a great meta.
My corp was Wiki's At Least It's Fast mooncore variant - I've been playing it at locals, and was deciding between it and Loud. It's fun and I recommend it.
I'd also love to shout out Leo, who I met on table 1 in round 3 and had an incredibly pleasant game with - and who made the cut, having played for a whopping whole month! Can't wait to see how he goes on in the game.

@Geometry Dash With new improvements, this version has become much more interesting. |
It was an amazing game, tense until the last run. I had a great time.
Your quote is accurate 😂
Thanks for coming to the event! Cheers!
