CV Azmari (4th at Cleveland Regionals)

I don't advocate playing this deck in this exact form. Using the taxing tag ICE as a means to make powerful remotes was very strong, and the deck pivots very quickly from glacier to kill, but I lost a real number of games due to finally taxing the runner out and then losing on the hail mary. I attest this to a combination of misplay and unoptimized deck choices. With the advent of Zer0 CV disrupting operation-based strategies I really appreciate playing a deck that offers very powerful topdeck plays. Having said that I should have been greedier with ICE selection, and I am fairly convinced that it was a mistake going Alliance for the Consulting Visits compared to just playing 3 HHNs. I expect I'll find a much better version of this list over time; I made it 2 days before the tournament, and it was a lot of fun, so I played it and don't regret it but it has a lot of space to improve.

Surveyor was not on my radar when examining Kampala Ascendant, but it was everywhere at the event, making 6 of the 8 top corp decks. It is so punishing at Str 4 and becomes an absolute beast after that. I was forced to turn into Null in one game as the runner in order to interact favorably against opposing Surveyors, which should speak to how much it can swing a game against modern Anarch decks. Navi Mumbai Grid is the other interesting card in the deck, and is great for combating decks reliant on Dean Lister, D4V1D, Datasucker, and Maxwell James. You also get some free wins against Pirate dex if you draw it early enough. Executive Boot Camp was to save deck slots, interrupt Indexing turns, and reach Alliance. I never used it and was always upset to draw it.

A good strategy I learned at this event is to not tell your opponents how to win. I will try not to do that at future tournaments.

Sounds like your chivalry might have gone a bit far, but nice deck and good luck in the future!

Wait, you mean I could've just ASKED you how to win instead of lucksacking into six agenda points at the last second?

That loss came from making you retract your concession, so I consider that a failing on my part.
