Release the Kraken!!! - No icebreakers deck

dante77 1153

This is not just another average deck, which will disappear in a decklist of others. This is the result of many hours spent on Netrunnerdb and many hours of playing.
I wanted to create Runner, who can win without using any icebreakers.

This deck contains a lot of possibilities for the removal of ICE:

  1. Forged Activation Orders - played at a good time
  2. Knifed - ideal for barrier (Eli, Wraparound and the like)
  3. Kraken - Before playing necessarily say, "Release the Kraken !!!"
  4. Parasite + Datasucker - it's obvious
  5. Imp - removes ice from HQ and R & D
  6. Hacktivist Meeting - very situational but is also useful as a counterattack on the Corp current (replace with Cyber Threat - to protect my ass)

This deck has the ability to bypass ICE:

  1. Inside Job - should play as 1 or 2 click to have time to play the Kraken from the hand or Déjà Vu, Same Old Thing.

This deck has a powerful Multiacces:

  1. 3 x Medium ;)

This deck does not have a powerful economy:

  1. Prepaid VoicePAD - you need something to pay for 25 cards events
  2. Dirty Laundry
  3. Sure Gamble
  4. Kati Jones
  5. Clicking

But there is no Icebreakers (save for their use)

How to play?
Quickly and aggressively. Corp do not know that we do not have the  Icebreakers and this is our ace in the hole.
Frequent jumps make the corporation is forced to rez ICE and spending money.
Very important is the concentration and memory cards to which we have access during the run to know what to expect.
We concentrate on R&D to steal agenda, and trash economy asset (Imp) on remote .

Don't forget to have fun playing this deck

Edit:

-2 Hacktivist Meeting

+2 Cyber Threat

This looks really interesting. is there a faction gives you it most trouble? Maybe something heavy on code gates?

How are you planning to break subroutines with Knifed?

8 May 2015 thesm17

@RubbishyUsername The ID Quetzal: Free Spirit can break 1 barrier sub per turn.

8 May 2015 mawa

Ah yes, forgot. For some reason thought this was Reina Roja. Carry on?

8 May 2015 Circadia

@RubbishyUsername Quetzal?

Tinkering would let you knife any 1-sub ice, but costs a lot of influence.

@thesm17not faction, but deck archetypes. I hate Tag-n-bag. But it is also a way. If you set quickly what type of deck has Corp, collect money and occasionally deletes ekonomy asset. I try not to run on the central servers, Just collecting a credit to brake traces or search #I've Had Worse.

This just archetype just seems to have massive weaknesses. I mean, what do you do about an oversight AI'ed Curtain Wall over R&D on turn 1 when you're playing Blue Sun? Without E3 Implants or something like that, Quetzel is useless on a 3-sub ICE, Parasite would take forever to kill it (which wouldn't work anyway vs. Blue Sun), and once it's bounced back, they'll have plenty of money to rez wha they need vs. Forged Activation Orders.

If you're really going all-in on ICE destruction, I just don't see why wouldn't want to include at least a copy or two of Eater to turn on the cutlery or E3 to make Quetzel be able to take out multi-sub barriers. Starting with the premise of having "no icebreakers" just seems too limiting for a deck that wants to be competitive.

@gamerchris i run like hell when i play against BlueSun. Try to pressure on HQ and R&D and force Corp to rez two or more ice in turn. Play Inside Job. I run for free, Corp must pay for protection.

I'm also skeptical about no E3. Regardless, I'm a huge Quetzal: Free Spirit fan and excited to give this a try.

I played this deck for two days and won 12 times. I lost only once.

You have to remember that Quazatl in this deck is very fast and it is important to take the initiative at the start of the game.

Do not be afraid corporation. The corporation should be afraid of you. In many situations it may help you poker face.

Very important information: The goal of each runner is to earn agendas not breaking the ice ;)

A wild Architect appears ! It's super effective

I think to add Cyber Threat to this deck. Good idea or not?

9 May 2015 Robotron5673

Good job on thinking outside the box.

9 May 2015 dante77

@Robotron5673 thx man.

9 May 2015 Dread Sovereign

-1 Inside Job -1 Forged activation order +2 Emergency Shut Down

might be a good idea to find a space for a Frame job and blackmail best way to run without icebreakers is if they can't rez ice.

9 May 2015 dante77

The main idea of this deck is remove ice, not derez. But thank you for sugestion. Now I tested Cyber Threat.

11 May 2015 dante77

Cyber Threat it's great card to this deck, which protects against surprises.

If I wanted to play no breakers deck, I would certainly go for BP Valencia or the comboish Incubator->Hivemind->PW+parasites->medium glory run for 20 cards or something in Maxx, those two decks do it much better imo.

This would suffer horribly to some net damage facechecks - Cortex Lock for 4, ouch. Komainu, boom. Parasites are great, but without any way to install them instantly during a run makes them half as effective.

11 May 2015 dante77

BP in my deck it's a waste of money. I don't have ice breakers, no pay for using it. I got many card to manipulate ice. Got Ive Had Worse to net damage.

I think he's referring to BP for Blackmail.
