Jinteki: Into Darkness v1.0 [SG]

Basic System Gateway Jinteki deck.

Jinteki: Restoring Humanity has an interesting ability. A potential constant 1c drip economy for the low price of ending our turn with a face-down card in archives... although naturally we want to avoid unnecessarily trashing cards. There are a few ways we can do this favourably:

  • Urtica Cipher is unlikely to be trashed by the runner. This means we get to install over it (after it goes off in the runner's face first, of course)
  • Spin Doctor allows us to overdraw, discard, then later save those cards from a runner access. With this deck, this is probably always a good play, but as usual it is especially effective at shuffling agendas back into R&D to buy time.
  • Hansei Review is a great economy card that gets a little better for us - however the card cost is still pretty significant.
  • Longevity Serum has the added benefit of allowing us to cycle out a card for a credit boost.
  • Anoetic Void has the potential trade-off of leaving some cards in archives face-down. However don’t count on this one too much.

As a result of these lost cards, we have a few methods to return them to our deck, namely Spin Doctor, and Longevity Serum.

However this deck is not built around a particularly long game - it is designed to flatline the runner. Here's how:

  • Aggressively place Urtica Ciphers, Regolith Mining Licenses and Clearinghouses - some will fire for damage, taxing the runner, the other will either tax them in credits OR give us some much needed economy. Guaranteed to waste resources at the very least.
  • Manegarm Skunkworks should give us that extra bit of power to secure a Clearinghouse, Orbital Superiority or Send a Message until the next turn. Especially powerful when combined with Anoetic Void - spending 2clicks or 5c only to be denied entry anyway is rough on the runner. Failing this, it might be a safe bet to stick this on Archives to ensure our 1c drip continues.
  • All of the ice are designed to be painful to encounter, thought there aren't too many of them and, as Jinteki, none of them are likely to catch the runner out. The exception to this suite of net damage is Palisade (to offer some additional tax for the shell game).
  • On the off-chance you draw into the singular Neurospike it may be worth actually scoring out an agenda to follow it up with some damage. However this card has something of an anti-synergy with the remainder of the deck, so I'd recommend trashing it with Hansei Review or Anoetic Void given the opportunity.
