Shock! You're Not Consulting!

Welcome back to another episode of Deckronyms, the Only* deck writeups dedicated to playing corps who's name can be turned into an acronym easily! (admittedly, this is the first non-Acmenym)

Today's deck - Shock! You're Not Consulting - shocking because I love Acme with all my heart and am surprised to not be playing it.

The heart of this deck is the 12-credit Hard-Hitting News - with SYNC's expensive credit removal, and the (hopeful) decline in use of cheap tag removal like No Free Lunch, this raises the runner's credit safety bar a little higher than the normal 8. Alongside credit-crunching ice and with the tools to support (and the odd tag capitalisation if plan A doesn't work), you'll be flatlining the runner in no time.

Ideally, this deck'll have its Send a Messages at the very bottom of the deck - Daily Business Show helps with this, and Bellona can be a game-winning steal for us sometimes, though scoring out 5/3s behind a Funhouse/Data Ward wall is possible.

So far, this deck is. not doing well on jnet. But I enjoy it as a concept, so I'm sticking with it.

Other Choices

• Best Defense - Misdirection is painful.
• Eavesdrop - It's quirky, and I couldn't fit it in any Acme decks.
• Thoth - My original deck concept was trace-based, I never got around to removing it, and now I'm attached to it
