Hayley Kaplan - DaVinci's Contraption (MWL Legal)

Saikron 37

Generally speaking, this deck is the conventional, serious business Hayley Stealth Shell with some unconventional changes. These changes were made with some general goals in mind: cut as many events/resources as possible, and use Hayley's ID as often as possible.

Of all events and resources that I could put in this deck, I decided that Diesel and Tech Writer were the only indispensable cards. Until there is hardware or programs for card draw (more on that later), I have to draw cards some other way. I went with Diesel because it's super cheap and I'll always be happy to draw another one (unlike procon). Technical Writer is, as far as I figure, an uncuttable card for stealth Hayley. This is a deck that rapidly installs about a dozen cards going into mid game and then gradually installs basically the entire deck throughout the game. TW converts those Hayley installs into drip econ. I often get 10-15 credits from my mid game TW and 4-8 from my late game TW.

As for the unconventional choices:

DaVinci in a vacuum is an OK card, but with Hayley it's kind of nice. In this particular deck, with only 6 non-installable cards TOTAL, you can make some ridiculous plays using Hayley, DaVinci, and SMC: "I bet you didn't know I could install 2 R&D interfaces at the end of your turn and Cloak/breaker at the beginning of my turn for 0 clicks." Low cost hardware and programs are already in the deck because it's stealth Hayley, so DaVinci can let you install a Mopus or R&D interface by combining it with Hayley's ID.

Hyperdriver is generally a card for fueling jank, and I tested this deck over several games with Sure Gamble instead of the HD. What irritated me about those games is that 1) 3 Diesel is really the bare minimum card draw, and if you don't find one for the first half of the game you could have lost by then clicking to draw so much; and 2) I was quite often disappointed to see SG once I already had Mopus and R&DI installed. Sure, it saves me 1 click over Mopus, but outside of early set up I usually have a click to spare before a run. I played against Hyperdriver Medium jank and it dawned on me: I cut 1 Mopus and 3 SG, and I added 3 Hyperdriver and a second Leprechaun. This card gives me 3 clicks that I can use very flexibly, and this deck can feasibly install it for net 0 credits and 0 clicks before my turn begins. Those clicks can be 6 credits from Mopus, my 4th Diesel, or even just some runs.

Lastly, this deck dies to flatline. I would probably cut 1 Hyperdriver for plascrete or Feedback Filter if I felt the need.

Hayley and DaVinci is great. DaVinci can install resources, so there are only 3 non-installables (unless you were talking about unique/duplicates like Astrolabe and Magnum Opus, but that doesn't seem to add up).

@tvaduva That's right. In my mind I was thinking "installable triggering TW" but I see I didn't write that. With TW out, you can DaVinci/SMC/Clone Chip a ton of cards out of your grip/stack for basically 1 click and a bunch of credits, but then refund most of those credits back when you are done setting up.
