AMP BAM

This was a deck inspired by beyoken's TAG-ME MAXX + BY ANY MEANS deck.

The deck is not for the faint-hearted: It's really difficult to pilot but once you get the hit, boy, it allows you to win in a BIG way.

What I love about this deck is it gives the runner another win condition: mill the Corp's deck. You pretty much win late game because you've already blown up their remaining deck with By Any Means + Jarogniew Mercs + Counter Surveillance.

One of the shortcomings of BY Any Means are the support cards it needs to make it effective. This is where Amped Up comes in. I played around with Hyperdriver a little bit but it was too slow. You don't care about brain damage anyway if you have enough tags and an Obelus to pad your hand size. Amped Up also allows you to set up in one turn while having the remaining clicks to trash the Corp's hand or their high value assets in the early stages of the game. You also don't lose tempo because it doesn't cost you anything to trash their cards.

General strategy is to setup up GoW and Obelus as quickly as possible. Get value CS runs in the first pass and blow up their hand to disrupt their strategies. You can win with just getting agendas or blowing up their deck in the late game, depending on the Corp ID.

The occasional CVS can be a pain and FA decks are difficult to play against because of their sheer speed. Weyland can prove to be difficult because of the kill threat. NBN with Psycho is always a concern. But playing Jinteki gives you such a great feeling since By Any Means doesn't trigger any of their traps. I've won a couple of games by just blowing their deck while gleefully seeing all their traps in the bin.

Overall, I had fun making the deck. I wish I could spare the influence for an Info Sifting but you can't have it all. Also thinking of chucking the Daily Casts but they're too good to pass up when GoW doesn't show up.

What about cutting Exclusive Party for a a couple Legwork and Inject? Then you have 2 inf to spare elsewhere and Legwork works pretty well with or without the full combo.

Correction: By Any Means still triggers an installed Psychic Field, which is quite possibly lethal. (I've Had Worse or Jarogniew Mercs can save you, although a rezzed Hostile Infrastructure limits that to just I've Had Worse.)

This is due to Psychic Field not being an "on encounter trigger" but rather a constant conditional ability. It's weird.

A Hostile Infrastructure rezzed right before a Surveillance/By Any Means access is dangerous too. Also, Komainu can be a problem. So, Jinteki isn't a slam dunk, but I agree that it's fun trashing traps without fear.

@PyWiz Exclusive Party gives me that consistency in economy that the deck doesn't usually have while you're setting up. It also frees me up from some the consequences of incurring tags like Closed Accounts and resource trashing. I just don't see Inject as an econ card and you're already going at 100mph with Maxx's ability. Legwork is good though. I might try it out.

@EnderA Wow, I didn't know that. I thought runner abilities resolve first? Weird ruling, indeed. And true, Hostile Infrastructure can be a pain but thank goodness Jinteki asset spam isn't as prevalent in the current meta.

@Tunguska_Lore I know what you mean about economy — Inject was just the first thing I thought of to give you that spare inf for a Legwork or two. Levy / Peace are kinda locked in unless you want to do one Levy or something but I like having two.

That said, I also run 2 copies of Retrieval Run so Inject actually helps me find the combo. Maybe there’s some other influence free Econ that could work though?
