Trap House v0.1

Certain IDs will always give your opponent a glimpse into your game plan. When the Corp sees Criminal, the 1st ice goes usually goes on HQ. When the Runner sees Weyland or Haarp, the Plascrete becomes a priority. There are a lot of ways that good players can play into this, and play against it.

I got siphoned by Noise once. It was traumatic.

When you see Noise, you don't think Siphon. I think this is a valuable mechanic in Netrunner. Great players are always looking for ways to surprise their opponent with new combos, card interactions, etc.

This deck is my attempt to fit very closely into the Foodcoats template while spending influence on unexpected disruptions for the runner, mainly Snare!, Psychic Field and Lotus Field.

If it wasn't for Jackson, I would have named this deck "Red is Half of Purple"

I don't think anyone needs instruction on how to pilot Foodcoats style decks, there are only a few changes I want to point out:

  • Quicksand: The most questionable card in this deck. For most Anarchs, these are parasite fodder. I will use them early on to hold down a central until a beefy Sentry shows up. For Criminal matches especially, and Shaper decks to a lesser extent, these little guys can do serious work. I have had several Criminal players burn a Femme on one of these. Not a bad trade for 3 credits and I hate having click-able bioroids on my centrals, allowing for one big Maker's Eye or Legwork.

  • Aggressive Secretary/Cerebral Overwriter: I don't like to see these early, but when I have 1 or 2 two pointers scored, installing and advancing one of these twice is so satisfying. With GFI so prevalent, the runner almost always takes the bait. Don't toss these in archives if you can avoid it, don't want to spoil the surprise. Also, I have noticed than anytime I install and only advance once, no body runs :-(

  • Snare!: One of the most disruptive cards in the game and have won me several games in this build. Most players will dig deep in R&D with Medium/Faust and these are a great way to slow things down. With only 2 in the deck, always Jackson them back when you can.

  • Janus: One of my pet cards that I just love having in the deck. Rarely rezzed but a nice surprise when it hits.

Hope you enjoy!
