Hivemind MaxX (2nd Stevenage SC)

Algebraic 909

I largely decided to play the new Hivemind MaxX deck to counteract my Red Planet Couriers and Government Takeover Weyland Consortium: Built to Last Corp deck. It was a bonus that I seemed to be able to fathom my way through the complications better than most who picked up this deck a week ago. This is basically how I play chess as a Runner list.

I wasn't completely brave enough to make all the NWE suggested edits. Removing both Black Orchestra and MKUltra puts a lot more pressure on using your Simulchips correctly. I kept the Black Orchestra to deal with zero strength Gatekeeper and a non-Aumakua answer to Magnet if people tried to tech for this deck. Also, having a cheap program to trash for Simulchip that can be reinstalled clicklessly allows for some nice lines.

I replaced the missing MKUltra and Knobkerie with two Wildcat Strikes which I enjoyed a lot on the day, mainly as it gave a difficult decision to my opponent rather than me for a change. I felt pretty confident playing the card going down to two or even one credit; you are very likely to draw into more economy and you don't mind pitching lots of stuff into the bin. As Corp, you should largely be giving the money rather than letting MaxX get to her Hivemind/Conduit combo sooner.

The deck went 3-3 on the day but all those losses (like all my losses all day) where to the eventual winner @Kikai on Manegarm Skunkworks/Anoetic Void Asa Group: Security Through Vigilance, so I guess I needed to practise that match more. The final can be found on NtscapeNavigator's Twitch channel although after a day of MaxX, my brain is jelly and my decision making goes a bit wonky. I beat Neurospike GameNET: Where Dreams are Real, Trick of Light Haas-Bioroid: Precision Design and Corporate Troubleshooter The Outfit: Family Owned and Operated, none of which I had any preparation. New metas are fun!
