Deep Sable with Odonuvo 5th @Ottawa-Gatineau District 2025-0

Sable with Deep Dive, with a different use of influence. Piloted by Odonuvo at the Ottawa-Gatineau District tournament on 2025-04-26.

The deck did 2-2 on the day. But had a rough time against PE, which has a tendency to snipe Deep Dive with damage. Odonuvo got 5th (out of 12) place, barely missing the cut.

Round 1 : Win vs theuglyred on Thule Subsea: Safety Below.

Round 2 : Loss vs Cullen on Jinteki: Personal Evolution.

Round 3 : Loss vs Gregor on Jinteki: Personal Evolution.

Round 4 : Win vs Bazza on Sportsmetal: Go Big or Go Home.

Game plan : Pressure the corp while setting up for the Deep Dive run.

Mulligan plan : Hermes, The Class Act, Earthrise Hotel, Mystic Maemi.

The deck is a creation of me and Odonuvo, in preparation to the Ottawa-Gatineau District tournament.

Deep Dive is the best win condition for runner, but require the deck to be build around it. The fact that it encourage basic netrunner pressure makes is great.

The big change, compared to lots of similar deck, is using Mystic Maemi and Katorga Breakout instead of a third Deep Dive. It makes the economy smoother and also gives slightly more resilience to losing Deep Dive.

Two other card slot were prefered to more traditional cards:

• Concerto instead of Overclock. We have a lot of 3 and 4 costed card. Concerto gives us a free draw and can be played on 0 credits. Very nice to trash an annoying asset in the early game and an easy to use card for the Deep Dive run.
• Tread Lightly instead of Pinhole Threading. This makes Deep Dive runs more likely and since we do not contest the remote much, in favor of setting up the Deep Dive run, it can make a remote with 2+ unrezzed ice VERY expensive to defend against an unexpected check.
