Book of Freedom (Countdown to 2024)

heres another list from the qtm archive as we rapidly approach the new year, and this one is a real gem

i spent more time than you would imagine iterating on various ideas for Prepaid Anarch. the book of loup seemed like a good idea initially for the extra card draw but the additional central pressure freedom provides felt super valuable to help make up for the often clunky early games. this particular list isnt the final one before i stopped looking into the deck, but it is the newest i still have access to that isnt buried forever on a jnet smurf saved only to an old laptop.

prepaid is a card i return to every set. whether its katorga breakout or joy ride or [redacted] theres always something new that gives the archetype new potential. bahia bands is a massive buff, acting as both an accelerant to help you set up and a payoff once you have the books in play.

this deck should absolutely have a poemu in it good lord, maw is for sure worse than knob but was a holdover from previous tinkering

at this stage im happy to admit that prepaid probably wont be a meta dominant card again before it rotates, but its a design space i hope we revisit in the future. it feels like a more balanced maemi though thats hardly unique, most ashes cards feel dogshit or like cracked
