"Before the fracking, before the renewable energies, before Space; we built things, and we did a damn good job of it. Every day, when we looked out of our windows, we saw the fruits of our labour towering above its surrounding buildings, reaching into clouds. Our projects have expanded the company to a new orbit, but we should never neglect our architectural roots. If we want to reach the skies, we must build."

Building a better server

Greetings everyone. I should like to take a few minutes of your time, to give a modest presentation of your future working endeavors. Ever since we reached the stars and refined the amazing process of renewable energies, the media has turned its eyes away from the construction projects we began with. Rumours circulated that we had altogether forfeited the civil engineering project, and that the Beanstalk would be the one and only true wonder of the world devised and created by Weyland...and as you can see, these rumours are false.

Another false rumour is the operation of the so-called 'Scorched Earth policy'. Ladies and Gentlemen, times get harder, measures get more drastic, but as artisans of the city we take no pride in destroying the creative labour of our industry, as well as the contractors and investors that supported its construction. When it comes to Runners, we have more discreet methods of handling any compromising situation.

Speaking of protection; with a confident influx of credits at our disposal, we have tailored ICE to meet your protection needs. Allow me to run through some of them with you, since you're probably used to a more...'classic' protection set:
Our Enigmas did very little in the late game, forcing the Runner to run last click to avoid its click loss effects - we don't like having our effects negated, so we've run with Datapike for more positive results, and more lasting effects. Chimera has been one of the strongest additions to our defense team, especially since we have the money to support 24-hour re-coding, and finally, Ichi 2.0 - not one you want to encounter down a dark server. Tollbooth breaks the bank, Ichi 2.0 breaks the rig.

Combine this with an exclusive contract to some of Haas Bioroid's elite Troubleshooters and we are guaranteed to ensure every ICE is available to fire again on any unsuspecting Runner. Kick 'em down, and Kick 'em out!

Generating credits for generations

With new operations at hand we have a greater capacity to expand our credit pool and enjoy the fruits of our labour. With 14 transaction-based operations to hand our division will achieve bonuses on each transaction we secure, the equivalent of more than 3 Hedge Fund profits! We host regular Successful Demonstrations, something many corporations fail to see potential in, so consider money as no object; however much you paid to keep them out, our security investors will pay out for those results! You may have heard of our Paywall Implementation program that we launched last month; well, regretably, you will not be taking part in its development. Inial trials showed very little capacity to generate income, as we're not that reliant on external assets...and our servers were just so strong we barely saw anyone get through - Instead we're implementing the Housekeeping directive, which has already seen many positive results.

And finally, many of the projects we are currently engaged with are expected to yield a strong return for our investors, and for your pay-packs. From High-Risk Investments, to Renovation Programs, to "Mergers", your future is secure with us, so long as you secure our future from the would-be "freedom fighters" of the net.

We operate a blank check policy. Your efforts to Weyland's future projects will pay off in dividends in the near future, securing a better world for both you and your families. Thank you for your time. I open the floor to any questions you might have.

The framework of this deck looks very solid. Some comments:

Thanks for calling on me, I'm with Confused But Enthused.

How many remote servers do you generally operate? Is this the antique Fort Weyland mentality, where one remote receives all of the ice that doesn't protect the central servers? Related query, between R&D and HQ, which server do you regard as more important to protect from so called "runner" intrusion?

@Bigguyforyou518Thank you for your questions. I hope we can alleviate any concerns and satisfy you on our choices.

Ichi 2.0 - Our reasoning over the Ichi 1.0 model is the issue with Bioroid fail-safes. With the 2.0 model it is impossible to click through all of the subroutines, so you should walk away with at least 1 brain damage + 1 tag, or, a program trash. Punitive Counterstrike - Plascrete Carapaces are a popular, and affordable model, so we don't 'focus' on the alternate measures of winning, the 2 are there to give us a good chance of drawing one. Don't forget Project Atlas allows us to hunt for them at a moment's notice, should we be in a confident position for quick success. Lockdown - Lockdown is a beautiful choice, in and out of kill decks. To the unsuspecting runner it makes them more cautious, to everyone else, it controls how they get their tools, forcing them to search for tools before they make runs. We did a write up about it not long ago, feel free to follow the link. Datapike - vs. Enigma let's consider a few things. 1-Enigma will only fire once, forcing the runner to lose a click. 2-Datapike will only fire once, forcing the Runner to lose 2 credits. 3-Only Datapike retains both of its subroutines as subroutines you need to break, otherwise pay 2 credits to bypass one sub. How many times have you seen the runner run Enigma on the last click, just to pay 1 credit? Excalibur - In the right situation this shuts off a lot of Runner choices. Security Testing archives gets worse with this in front. Without an AI breaker you will be forced to time how your clicks are spent, and forces out the AI, should they have one. Chimera has become more and more popular as we go along. It has been tempting to remove the Excalibur in place of Chimera, but with Endless Hunger and Apocalypse being a thing we'd very much like to ensure the chain reactions never hit, so for the time being we will remain with Excalibur. We're actually looking to change Ichi 2.0 for the new Assassin pulled up by NBN, and by replacing Lockdown with possibly another Chimera we can exchange Housekeeping with Cerebral Static, since we've had problems with certain ...virus dealers

@Waltzard Thank you for your interest. We have 16 pieces of ICE protecting our servers, and while a reliable single remote fort is used we don't negate the protection of the centrals. Protecting HQ or R&D is a meta call on how flooded you are, and what surprises you are to expect. Chimera offers great versatility, forcing out an entire suite before the Runner can get through. When the runner feels they have the upper hand by focing all of these rezes we spend the day on Successful Demonstrations, which give us enough funding for a full Restructure, and it's very satisfying to watch a disheartened Runner sigh as you're back in the credits.

Also, we had the pleasure of encountering the rouge AI known as Apex: Invasive Predator, and we had no fear of Endless Hunger[Apocalypse] (/en/card/09030), we were prepared. With a 5 times advanced Hadrian's Wall we could bounce the strongest ICE breaker known to the net, and the Runner had no clue how to proceed.
