(coffee's for closers) 3rd @ CBI

sebastiank 2128

As usual, shoutouts to the venti council @wowarlok and @coldlava, who helped tune the deck and gave play advice in the lead-up. I won't be playing this at district champs, there are more fun decks I want to play before they rotate. Please don't play this either 🥺@nsg, please stop printing upgrades so I'm forced to branch out. Cheers.

Congrats and WP!

I cannot tell you how relieved I was to see this deck knocked out of contention at the last possible minute.

Amarum is the real hero of the CBI.

Love that song. Great run!

Great job on the placement, did you find Yakov to be useful in your games. He always seems like he would be good in Ob but I suppose with 74 cards he can find room.

@Supernaut Yakov is almost always great- there is the incremental value you get cycling things through the remote that usually makes some yakov money early game, but the most important thing is that he pays you back for every card you trash in his server on the MAD turn . Also, yeah we play 74 cards lol. A 0 cost upgrade with no text in some metas we might play over Crisium Grid so the bar is pretty low.

I can't believe that the big coffee industry itself intervened to stop your run by not stocking any Venti cups! You'll get them next time!

Why was the Tranquility Home Grid chosen over the Drafter for this tournament? What matchups did you have in mind when filling out the influence? I find the drafter to be quite handy vs criminal since they are almost always on Carmen.

@frontierEventually after playing with Drafter versions I came to the realization that runners have enough time to assemble solutions to ice before you combo that spending influence on ice with no strong non-subroutine effect is wrong. Against Carmen specifically, it is decent, but against Echelon and Revolver spending 2 inf for a 2 cred tax is meh. Tranq Grid tutored early helps the deck accelerate to the MAD board state (per wowarlok, most of the time its the correct first 1-cost tutor over Urban Renewal for that acceleration effect and so the remote is not occupied by an asset for too long as you're building up). We draw with tranq more than most decks do, and with Ob get installs on the runners turn.
