Tagging Thule

Mppqlmd 33

This deck tries to conciliate two archetypes, that work very well together : tagging, and click-taxing. It can either win through Core damage synergy, or through Tag-punish... or through a mix of both.

It aims at creating no-win situations where the runner simply does not have enough clicks to both clear tags, and avoid the Core damages.

For instance, the runner is running your remote to contest your agenda. You have a Funhouse and a Manegarm Skunkworks in there. They need 1 click for the run, 2 clicks/5 cred to pass Manegarm (+3 to trash), 1 click+2 cred for the agenda steal, and 1 click + 2 cred to remove the tag. That's 4 clicks and 12 credits, not even counting what they pay to pass Funhouse, all to gain 1 Agenda point, and expose themselves to Distributed Tracing.

It gets even nastier with the addition of 3 Mr. Hendrik, that, when combined, create unescapable Core damages, and 3 Nightmare Archive. Nightmare Archives are an essential part of this. Not only do they prolong the runner's suffering, they allow you to feed them more agendas, and thus enable Distributed Tracing.

So what happens if the runner has any Core damage ? Ontological Dependence is there to punish them, of course, but more importantly, having a reduced handsize makes them more vulnerable to flatlining.

Even 1 core damage is enough for Hypoxia + End of the Line, which means ending their turn with a tag is potentially lethal.

(You can technically play Hypoxia + Hypoxia + End of the Line to Flatline a 5-card hand with a single tag, but i never had those stars align) Edit : I had those stars align exactly once !

2 core damages makes EotL lethal in itself, which enables the Distributed Tracing+End of the Line finisher.

If you struggle to land core damage, Hypoxia is a good solution. If you struggle to land tags, scoring out through Élivágar Bifurcation and Ontological Dependence is an alternative win.

Also worth pointing out that both Élivágar Bifurcation and Hákarl 1.0 can "reload" Ping, which is a fun interaction and helps with the tag-attrition.

I hope you find this deck as fun as i do !
