The Bug Zapper

Decided to post an update to my CP deck that had a few holes in it. I had a good discussion going with a few other posters on the last version of this...hopefully I can get some more feedback/responses on this one too! :)

I decided to change up my agendas ever so slightly, as well as my econ engine. PAD Campaigns are great, but I think I will be able to do more with this style if I have more burst credits...we'll see. Targeted Marketing has to be an auto include in CP Rig Destruction, IMO, and Caprice is here to patronize and annoy as usual. The ICE suite seems a bit more solid, but is likely not quite there yet. If anyone can lend advice (I'm looking at you, FarCry :P), that'd be awesome!

I've been tinkering with CP as well (like everyone else), and I think recursion is one of the biggest challenges to pin the runner down and eliminate their options. I think Blacklist has a place in a CP--maybe at the expense of Targeted Marketing?

I can't say that you're wrong about Blacklist, but I can say that when D&D hits, Employee Strike is gonna be very prevalent..for only 1 influence point, you can take a TON of power away from 90% of Corps that may already be struggling as it is to keep runners at bay. I think I'm gonna stick with TM and if I need Blacklist, then I could maybe remove a Jackson for it.

Have you considered Wall of Thorns? You can trigger CP's ID and end the run :D

I sure have, no doubt. :) I just worry about the ease of D4v1d in getting through it, and then getting recurred later and such. A WoT costs 5 creds for Corroder, but a fully loaded Ashigaru costs 7, and just about renders Cerberus "Lady" H1 unconscious in 1 run. Tollbooth is my D4v1d bait and Yog tax, and it pulls its weight. :)

Is Meru Mati really worth it's slot at the cost of two-influence? I can't help but feel Eli 1.0 is better for just being taxing and Wall of Static or Wall of Thorns is better at gear-checking.

I won't lie, I love Eli, but it has a history of being porous at just the wrong times...when the runner just wants to Siphon/Vamp you, or some shinanegans like that. WoS is a nice gear check, but I still feel that no matter when it's drawn, Meru Mati is better at taxing HQ to divert their attention elsewhere. WoT falls under the category of expensive. It's a great ICE, don't get me wrong...but being D4v1d bait (or easy Lady fodder) makes me steer away from it a bit.

I'm not adverse to trying out other ICE by any means...but if I'm going to be tinkering with my influence points, then I really need incentive to do such a thing. For me, influence has to be replaced by influence, and I always have to have the max...just a bit anal retentive about it I suppose. :) I do appreciate the feedback...and hope it keeps coming!

How did I miss this update?...auto fave. I'm a bit biased, since I have one in my own build, but I'm a big fan of Wendigo as a 1-of splash. He effectively counts as two kinds of ICE, which is fairly flexible in shutting down a non-AI breaker that could otherwise break the ICE behind him.

Also, do you feel that Reclamation Order is worth a slot, or is influence just too tight? I like the thought of being able to recur EMPs straight into HQ, rather than waiting after J-How shuffles them in.

@slobad31 - This is certainly not the final draft by any means. I may just have to see if Wendigo can fit in here. Before I go to sleep next, I shall open up the Editor here and try some things. :)

Reclamation Order certainly could have a place, no doubt. I actually did have one in a previous version, due to some advice from FarCry about Neural EMP recursion. Influence has proven to be kinda tight, and a bit of a stress point for this deck. I will have to figure something out real soon.

After seeing Barrier Bay and the Psych Evaluation one that was just posted earlier, I'm actually pondering going down to just Ashigaru as my lone Barrier in the deck. It's an outstanding Fracter tax, and the only one it doesn't put a gradual stranglehold on is Spike (backed up by 3 or more other cloud breakers of course). It's been quite a challenge tinkering with the ICE and finding the right fit that isn't too tough to rez, nor too easy for runners to get through at will.
