Stop Hitting Yourself v0.1

Argus is a mystery. The ability of choice makes it difficult. One agenda scored, on clicks 1-3, can end up costing just 2c. And this is in a faction where you could be playing Blue Sun or Titan.

While the ability is arguably stronger on paper (not really kinda) than PE, it really gets going when the Runner accesses multiple agendas in one turn. Only then can you really put the Runner in a tight spot. How to do that? One-pointers. Hefty powerful ones that benefit you greatly when you sneak them out. Especially False Lead.

I don't see Argus being in for the long game. They are going to be a click-compression rush deck, hoping to score when the Runner is trying to recoup and baiting them when they are ready to run. This is my first attempt. I'm very happy with the ice, and very happy with the influence. I don't think Argus will need SEA Source. I think Data Raven will be a click-compression king in this deck and near-required, much like ItJustGotRielle said False Lead is key to Argus.

Choices lie to Accounting and Power Shutdown, but I think my first attempt will be playing a bit like an aggro UnCorrodable, always keeping the side win-con of Power Shutdowning their Faeries or Corroders. And more interestingly, if the Runner accesses a fat stack of 1 pointers in the Archives and don't win, they will be in for some nasty choices.

If Argus and Data Raven ends up being more click-compression than I anticipate and Runners favor tag-me against Argus, I may consider Traffic Accident.

I'm not confident in Checkpoint. I think it, combined with Hostiles (I'll be scoring at least 1-2 a game), will give so much bad pub that the Trace will be marginal. And between Snares, and paying an assload advancing 1 pointers, this deck won't be too rich.

@scourged I like your explanation and operation-heavy spread. I find it interesting that you opted for minimal assets, forgoing shell game antics, and instead relying on the fact the runner WILL in fact know exactly what is in that remote when you drop it- and that's the point. That's Weyland 101 right there, I like it. I considered Power Shutdown for mine and really want it in there, but with so many assets I hate to see them trashed when I'm counting on them to build my board state. Please come back to here and let me know how this plays once you get a few games in with it (particularly vs. decks with the new Anarch events).

I'll be sure to. Probably going to cut Accounting, won't last long enough. I'll find something to fill it in.

@scourged Punitives instead of the Accountings? You have some 5/3s after all.

Plz give some some details on your playtesting! I want to run argus so bad because my playgroup is giving it so much crap. i have a few questions.

1: economy. How are you making money? especially for weyland, this deck is poor by looking at it. Perhaps swap out a Posted Bounty for Gila Hands Arcology.

2: the style of deck you describe makes me think you are running light on ice. Could you describe you ice choices?

3: is this a for of supermodernism? Or is it a new archetype as it doesnt strictly fit into tagnbag?
