Quetzal's Quest for Qorp's Qards (7th @Naarm Districts)

As our local Naarm/Melbourne District Championship approached I was a bit of a loss as to what runner deck to play. I'd piloted Aniccam Crew Hosh at Djillong/Geelong Districts and it had performed well, and played a couple of casual games with Mulch Hosh, but I just never get much joy out of playing Hoshiko. Earlier this year I'd jammed a fair bit of Mining Accident 419 and played around with a couple of variations on Girls Akiko decks, but I was interested in finding something a bit more aggressive.

That's when I came across lif3line's recent Quetzal list (and its multiple predecessors), which looked like a ton of fun and had the extra bonus of giving me a chance before rotation to play an ID I had barely touched before.

With lif3line's write-ups emphasising that the intended play style is to regularly put pressure on centrals, even sometimes just for random single accesses, I figured that Hermes would make for an interesting alternative console. Here's a summary of the changes I made:

-2 Aniccam, -2 Lago, -1 Dirty Laundry, -1 Raindrops
+1 Hermes, +1 Bahia Bands, +2 The Price, +1 Laamb

I think a second Hermes and third Price over the second Laamb + Bahia may have been the better call since I never saw Hermes in the three games I played, and there were plenty of tools to get around ice even when I didn't have Laamb thanks to Poison Vials, Botuli and Crews.

Games
R1 Loss to a Core Combo Sportsmetal in a very close and exciting game.

R3 Loss to PE. I got greedy with feeding cards to Moshing and didn't keep Steelskins in hand. Stole a Fujii, went down to 3 cards in hand, Corp went down to 0 credits to land a Punitive Counterstrike then scored a Blood in the Water for the kill.

R5 Win vs Click-Taxing Mirrormorph. My opponent could only find barriers for the first 4-5 turns, I nabbed an Ikawah from HQ and a Vitruvius off the top of R&D. After a little more back and forth I sent a Finality into R&D and hit an Offworld on the final card accessed for the win.

Thanks to Scarius for organising and to my opponents and the rest of the Naarm/Melbourne community for a great day of Netrunner!
