Prognostic Predator!

I have always loved the idea of Apex as a character, but I always seem to find him too slow or his ability too useless in practice. Lately, though, I have been running this deck which has proven to be pretty fun and has the potential to really amp up the runner's momentum with the right draw.

So what new cards are fueling this fun?

  • Gachapon - Some great accelerant for anyone who uses programs, and virtual resources! Works well to get value on corp's turn from Wasteland and Reaver too.
  • Prognostic Q-Loop - This is an expensive include in terms of influence, but it can theoretically improve the value of Aesop. In practice, it hasn't really been that great. Tbh, this could be dropped for some more useful cards. But in the meantime, it gives me this great alliterative deck name!
  • DreamNet - I love this include because it really fits the nightmare fuel that is Apex! Thematically it is excellent, and if there is any open server, this is a great value to boot.
  • Odore & Utae - These are prefect for Apex (and Adam) since they get better in the virtual world.

The rest of the deck is just good stuff Apex. In fact, this whole thing can be considered a good stuff Apex deck. These are all cards that are great in Apex.

  • Sports Hopper - This is great to trigger on the corp's turn for the added Wasteland and Reaver value. But, it can be saved for increased trace strength or kill survivability.
  • Assimilator + Harbinger + Aesop's Pawnshop - This is infinite money for 2 clicks per turn. Anywhere from 3 credits on up to 6 credits and 2 cards for 2 clicks every turn. It's an endless Reaver-Shop.
  • Reboot - This is a fantastic value either for survivability or for Aesop.
  • Apocalypse - Everyone hates this card. It's a back-up plan. Be sure to keep a way to recover, i.e. Assimilator.

With all that said, there are still some problems with getting high cost cards early and being unable to recover. I recommend to mulligan for money since the first few turns are generally pretty expensive, but once you get rolling it's a great feeling deck!

Good luck, and have fun!
