An Attempt at Caissa

PRFogarty 15

My first real attempt at a runner. The concept of forcing a corp into a lower econ game than they expected to play appeals to me, as well as the chess pieces and the combo between Keyhole and Hades Shard. This deck attempts to combine all 3.

My biggest economy goals from the deck were to make everything work off a smooth line economy instead of the burst of things like Kati Jones, replacing them instead with Data Folding working well with Deep Red, and Armitage Codebusting whenever possible.

The biggest piece of variance I see with what I have and other Reina Roja: Freedom Fighter decks is my inability to let go of e3 Feedback Implants. It combos very well with both Knight and D4v1d that I just can't not dedicate the 4 influence.

My biggest concern is "Can I get the cards I need? What do I do when I don't?". I think this is reflected in the heavy investment into Test Run, and Duggar's. Test Run works well with D4v1d and the Caissa pieces, and I can pay ticks instead of influence with Same Old Thing to get more uses. Duggar's is a risk and new territory for me. I feel like I have a strong enough redundancy in core resources, hardware and events that overdrawing wont lead me into a situation where I discard my deck especially since my "copies" of Test Run can be installed. Clone Chip gives more security here. Alternatively, I considered a Retrieval Run instead of Test Run, but I can't really see anything I really want influence for that beats a dedicated deck tutor.

If I had to pick 1 card to just "drop", it would be Bishop, either for 2 Parasite to make R&D walls breakable, or a third Keyhole and a third I've Had Worse to ensure I will have them when I need them most. The biggest reason I keep them is the Caissa archtype, as I don't want to play 3/4s of the Chess set. I also tell myself that it's important for making Mimic and Yog.0 very cheap at beating 5 strength ice, and Corroder at breaking many of the common barrier ice.

Thanks for reading this far. I'm looking forward to see how this deck evolves over input and playtest.

I would drop the two Bishop and even the Yog.0 for 3 Parasite. Bishop is somehow anti-synergetic with Knight and especially D4v1d. Maybe economy is also an issue: you do not run expansive stuff, but you only have Sure Gamble, Data Folding and Armitage Codebusting for making cash.
