Donald - Miss Kaplan**, mind if we ask you some questions?

Kaplan - Am I being detained?

Donald - For now, yes, there is a serious investigation, and we need to be thorough.

Kaplan - I haven't done anything wrong!

Donald - I'm sorry for the intrusion. just answer the questions please.

Kaplan - ...ok.

Donald - Let us begin with your connection to the Temple of the Liberated Mind.

Kaplan - Ok, well... I'm currently doing an in depth analysis of their division of the conscious self in digital mediums, and its application to interface hardware...

Donald - Fascinating I'm sure, but how did you get permission to enter their temples? From what I hear you must be a temple member to reach the inner circle.

Kaplan - I'm not in the inner circle, one of the lesser Guru's wanted to demonstrate some of their techniques, my university got an invitation, and I was selected to observe. I approached the Guru about further analysis, which he agreed to.

Donald - Does this Guru have a name?

Kaplan - Yes it's ~~~~~~

Donald - ~~~~~~... You must have impressed him greatly.

Kaplan - Yes he noticed my console during the initial visit.

Donald - Could you please explain.

Kaplan - I design custom hardware for deep immersion net access. It was my original major, data filtering quantum hardware.

Donald - All that hardware must be expensive and it isn't all university issue, plus when you add in your moon trips and the cost of a hopper to Mumbad, well how do you afford all that.

Kaplan - It isn't that expensive compared the monolith that Levy has running. or their VR simulator I offset the costs by making tutorials or demo vids, I've got a bit of a fan club actually. Most of my really big projects have actually been funded by a good day at the casino.

Donald - The Casino? Gambling doesn't seem like it helps your studies. But that income doesn't cover all your expenses.

Kaplan - Haha, yeah a bit of gambling is a great way to blow off steam, also the tinkering community has a big favor economy.

Donald - Excuse me?

Kaplan - Yeah you debug someone's code, they get you the parts you wanted. a good chunk of my hardware is borrowed or lent to other people. In fact I'm currently using a loaner console while the ~~~~~~ looks at mine.

Donald - Ok, Have you been to Wyldside

Kaplan - Do I look like someone who goes to Wyldside?

Donald - Please answer the question.

Kaplan - I haven't been.

Donald - Do you know /////////////////////////

Kaplan - I think ////////// Isa subscriber of mine.

Donald - Have you had any contact with them.

Kaplan - I don't know, nothing memorable, I may have explained to them how to flash programs onto a clone chip, It's easy but everyone has trouble with that one.'

Donald - Uh huh..What are these programs on this console.

Kaplan - Storage and efficiency software mostly. That is a custom packet analyzer, helps with large bodies of data.

Donald - And this?

Kaplan - Chakra meditation software that I have been toying with. It's part of my project...

Donald - It seems built for hardware and not mind interfaces.

Kaplan - Yes. Like I said my project was applying the Guru's division of self to hardware software interactions.

Donald - You are trying to make programs meditate?

Kaplan - It sounds silly when you say it like that. It does nothing to active software yet. At best it creates a small resonance cascade on inactive quantum tunnels, but that has no real practical application.

Donald - How do you have time for all of this?

Kaplan - Well my efficiency software helps, and show me a student whose blood isn't 30% diesel. Students learn not to sleep.

Donald - You are certainly very busy.

Kaplan - I have a hard time being idle. Are we done.

Donald - For now, you have no intrusion software or traces of it, and your high end feedback filter is covered under experimental access laws set by the bio-ethics committee.
