Snuff Film! (Butcher Shop Variant)

This is an Experimental Version of Butcher Shop that I will be piecing together when Old hollywood comes out. I believe it addresses one of the biggest weaknesses of Butcher shop, namely the "I'm dying in a turn" Glory runs where the runner goes from 2->7 points through use of insane amounts of multiaccess + picking up the NAPDs left in archives.. It also allows you to catch up in the early game if the runner pulls ahead in money - they will be less able to leverage that into many turns of multi-access.

You don't have as much draw as regular NEH-shop, which is a small weakness, but I've found that Butcher doesn't really server spam in the way that other NEH decks do anyway, so it's less of a disadvantage.

The other interesting aspect is the Explode-a-palooza, which is significantly better than NAPD in Shop. You gaining 5 creds is far more important than the runner losing 4 (because it's an extra credit AND it'll almost certainly allow you to midseasons if you're both poor), and they cant' choose not to steal it. Not sure about Beale vs NAPD, but I'm leaving the Beales in so I can still threaten the Fast advance combo out.

You're not alone in wanting to try Butcher Shop out of Haarpsichord. It's basically built to be the Midseason NBN ID.

Do you think the SEA Source is strictly necessary? It's kind of superfluous when you're already playing Midseason Replacements, and dropping it would let you get another SanSan City Grid in there to threaten the FA even more.

I like the SEA source because it allows me to threaten runners who wise up to my plan and start trashing my PADs and Business shows, as most butcher shops don't run SEA source.. It's the threat of the sea-scorch-scorch more than me actually planning to use it!

I tried SEA Source in NEH Butcher Shop for a little bit, but most of the times I drew it I could never get 2 scorches together at the same time. When I could, usually the runner activated Midseasons before it mattered. I decided I hated it and took it out, but I can see why you'd think to include it. Without Atlas counters, I just found it too situational in a deck where a lot of shit is already really situational.
