Don't make a sound (lol jk)

Just a little fun idea I had thanks to reading a Reddit thread about how Gorman Drip interacts with Hivemind. It's damn obvious when you think about it...but how often do you think about it . . .

Standard Aesops / Cache economy for the most part - but the Cyberfeeders powering your virus installs should make it feasible to make money off 'standard' virus installs. You do have about 20 viruses - so you can pretty easily cycle through enough mills to seriously hinder the corp.

It does worry me just a tad that you might encounter issues if you don't find both a Progenitor and an Aesops early. However - even if you don't - the sheer force of your virus installs should run enough interference to prove potentially deadly.

No e3 because Darwin is only there to break things you can't just scum through with Parasites. The other breakers are there just in case something silly happens - like Swordsman or Wraparound.

I was also tempted to include the Pancakes Combo - but deck slots are a thing. To be honest - I'd rather just make every draw valuable than slam more draws in. Triple I've Had Worse should provide enough punch to power through things - and enough protection in case silly things happen.

Haven't tested it yet - but will do tonight. It's just a fun little thing, probably won't work consistently. But you know how it is with Netrunner - anything can win. Just need to get lucky enough with those siq millz.

Man I mentioned the Gorman Drip v1/Hivemind interaction the day the O&C spoiler released... I really hope it catches on, it's just awesome.

Have you given any thought to including Incubators and Fester? They basically force the corp to purge and slow down even more, while really not costing you much (the viruses that need tokens get them back fast). Then when you have the opportunity to dump an Incubator onto Hivemind for 3-4+ counters, you can trash a Gorman for a tidy sum. I built a deck very similar to this when O&C came out and the friend I showed it to won't play Netrunner with me anymore >.>

I have given thought to both those cards. Two words - deck slots.

I'm a lot more attached to the cards I currently have. I could cut the Cyberfeeders - but they are just...so much money. So much damn money - especially if you draw them early. They also feed the beast of Darwin for free - which is nice.

I could cut the Virus Breeding Ground - but that's constant amounts of tokens - so I like that.

Besides for that, I'm not really sure. I mean, the IHWs maybe - but no draw seems pretty terrible. I already have no tutors - so cutting essential programs seems pretty meh. All in all - I could just beef my deck up - but lean and mean I feel is best for this archetype.

Also, as another note - I often find myself just eating the Gormans for cash with Aesops - however, the amount of control they offer is huge - and the fact the corp either has to play around them - or give me disgusting amounts of cash is...really fun.

Yeah that's fair. If you are playing Gorman Drip as a thorn in the side instead of necessary econ, that makes total sense. I think I'd have a hard time keeping that paradigm locked in as I play, but maybe not.

I'd like to think of it as un-necessary econ. If I get some big fat payout - I mean hell I won't not take it. If I don't - it's still a mill, I probably didn't pay for it (Thanks Cyberfeeder) and I get 3 from Aesops. Not exactly a losing position for me to be in!

But your comment is fair - and I can't really disagree with it in principle. Fester is a really good card that not enough people run in virus decks. However, as I built this one, I sorta realised why it just doesn't happen.

This is one of those "opportunity-cost" discussions that I hate but know in my heart are right. Maybe Fester has a home in Hayley and Incubator has a home in Armand? Certainly neither belong here. Excellently argued.
