Axe to Grind

Rabscuttlet 7

This is a straightforward butcher shop deck.

Packed full of economy. Drop the light ice as you see it, and put ETR on a single remote and get an Astro out if you can. It will help a lot for scoring the Breaking News and comboing for the kill.

I've been using Casting Call my similar deck. It's amazing. You tell the runner, "Here's the agenda. It's going tag you twice and cost you cred & clicks to remove and set me up for Midseasons OR give me the points." I prefer to use Explode-a-Plooza these days as over NAPD, so the runner can't refuse to steal and I still get a cred advantage.

I run TGTBT, over Breaking News, but that's a personal preference.

Casting Call looks like it's going to be good for sure!

Nice thought re Explode-a-Palooza. I decided I'd rather keep the Beales as scoring out with Astro chain still happens plenty, but I didn't think about swapping the NAPDs. I think that does make a lot of sense, as the runner checking the single-advanced agenda and then leaving the NAPD can be undesirable.

I feel like Breaking News is an absolute must - I'm even running three! Because of the mad econ, on turn ~5 you're installing and advancing something. BN turns that into a huge threat.

In this deck, it might not be bad to also drop a Beale in favor of a TGTBT if you're going 3x Breaking News anyhow (which I think is always good to do). Since they can only score 1 agenda per turn, there are times where you can fool them into taking the shitty agenda that gives them a tag as opposed the the astro that you actually want to score. Plus, since Plan A isn't to score out anyhow, you get the same number of agendas in the deck without a higher point total, which can matter a lot when the runner goes on the final hail marry runs before you kill them.
