Hi!

Is Punitive Counterstrike worth the 6 influence if the highest scoring agenda you have is 3 points and you're trying hard to keep the runner out with damage from other sources anyway? You could replace those with some Archived Memories which is a solid card in most decks.

I'll be honest, I based this mostly on one of the decks from the hall of fame that made a rather compelling argument for it. The argument being that the runner will be trying to get through, and the ice is more taxing than anything else. No one wants the damage from Tsurugi or Neural Katana, and so it becomes the case of the runner spending more credits to get to that one agenda. When he/she finally does you can then Punitive Counterstrike and get the trace off relatively easily to keep the tempo in your favour despite the fact they scored. Does that make sense? I just started the game and it seemed to sound reasoning.

It certainly does make sense. I'm not massively experienced either; I guess it's just personal preference. I'd rather have an Archived Memories in my hand that is valuable all the time than something very situation specific like PC.

But at the same time, you've got Interns in here too, which fills a better niche with the Ronin mind games.

I'd be tempted to at least go down to 2 PC and use that spare 3 influence (as you're only on 14 now) for something else.

Yeah, that spare influence is really bugging me and I could see myself swapping in a one drop of something. Punitive Counterstrike seems like it'd be more useful later on in the game. I'm not exactly sure what would be a good one drop though into the list.

Playing a deck with a similiar idea for quite a long time (goind second in swiss at a 20 pers. store champ.). I highly recommend to replace Nisei MK II with NAPD Contract, because it's far more taxing and opens up the Punitive Counterstrike option. Personally I have very, very good experience with Private Contracts - It's really hard to trash and give's you a money boost, you normally need. you can have a look here: netrunnerdb.com

I agree. When I get access to NAPD I will be definitely putting it in. I've definitely made a few more changes to the ICE in the deck as well as a few other things.
