Seance v6 - 5-2 Durham NC Regionals

This deck is tons of fun and very close to being super competitive.

Its two losses were:

  • a round one surprise punitive out of HB after accessing 6-8 cards off R&D. I got sloppy and forgot that Round 1 is a jankfest (haha funny coming from the player of this deck, right?)
  • a round 6 loss to eventual top 16er Ran Cao's Blue Sun. She is an amazing player so all credit goes to her. I was working on a deep dig, though, and she snuck out a Chronos Project, correctly guessing I wouldn't be checking remotes. Both of my Levy's went in that hit. I was at 4 points with only a few more Faust runs possible. My Hail Marys with medium didn't connect (even seeing 6 cards or so) so it was all over.

Other than that, the deck was a beast. It's very good against fast advance since it can start with multiaccesses as soon as turn 2-3. Jinteki PE was not a problem at all either. I ate two snares and three fetals with no problem while digging like a maniac. Gotta watch for Marcus if you're low on hand size and there's a Cortex or something.

See also my previous writeup. This deck has helped me fall in love with Netrunner again.

One note: It's super aggressive but still slower than it looks. i paired it with IT thinking it was fast, which was a mistake. My two timed losses with IT cost me a top 16. So pair it with something fast. Related: I'm in the market for a new corp.

With 3 career fair, I found it interesting you went with armitage over liberated accounts. Even with CF still found LA upfront costs too much?

Yes. THis deck can run very low on credits no problem. But when you need them you need to go from 1 or 0 to 4 in one turn to score that NAPD. Armitage is your friend for that.

Career Fair is only for Wyld, Chronotype, and Daily Casts. You'll see your deck 2-3 times, and will often have 10 cards in hand, so the changes of being able to use it are much higher than similar lists.

You see the pattern: it's all about getting set up as early as possible so you can start getting accesses. Modded and Career Fair are your sure gambles: they let you install and gain 3 credits for one click instead of the comparable gaining 4 then installing with SG.

I played you on Saturday (running PE and Beach Party Kate), and loved your deck so much that I played a few games with it last night. Afterwards, I and my opponent were talking about the deck, and he asked what its solution is to really big ICE.

Have you needed to deal with anything really big yet? I'm thinking of things like Curtain Wall, Nebula, or even Wotan... Seems like a D4V1D or two might be good to pack since they would massively drain cards using Faust.

Love the deck. Initially thought the moddeds were too much influence but they are a fantastic include with such draw. I need to slot 2-3 film critic in for punitive, midseasons, future perfect, napd, etc. generally a great card in the current meta and even better for deep medium digging Haarpsichord. Question is how often do you need the 2nd Levy and is it droppable to keep the 3 moddeds? Plastacrete, stimhacks and wanton were my other cuts to get to 45, be interested to hear why you prefer 50?

@Hope glad you like it!

Cutting the 2nd levy could work but just know you're on the clock when you do that. Film critic would be a great addition to speed up wins against NAPD, FP, Fetal, the movies, etc.

As for 50 cards, I follow this heuristic: 3x if I want it in opening hand, 2x if I need it by midgame, and 1x for utility. This deck draws so fast that an extra 5 cards to help me hit those ratios actually makes it play consistently. The small deck consistency instinct is wrong when you're seeing 5 cards a turn. 50 cards also extends the deck's life a little which is important for Faust.

Cut cards if you want, just know you're putting on more pressure to win before you deck yourself. Perhaps a good decision.

@gamerchris 1x D4v1d would be a good and respectable add.
