It's a Sunny Day

Merino 1

Took alot of notes from CodeMarvelous in building this. Tried to turn it more and more sideways but ended up agreeing with alot of his choices. Though i'm still tinkering with the best way to approach it.

For some reason Sunny was the runner that really made my brain tick when D&D came out. Link hasn't been that important so far in the game but by now there are plenty of tools to support a strategy build around it, Maybe the time is coming for a solid link-based build and Sunny is obviously the one to do it with her 2 link up front turning on cloud breakers and Underworld Contracts.

Her very expansive Security Nexus console is bonkers with 5-link, giving a free ice bypass a turn (and turns face-checking any scary ice into an innocuous piece of ice that ends the run and gives a tag) is amazing and it combo's with Jak Sinclair forcing the corp to double ice all servers or give away a clickless free run a turn. Put Power Tap's down and make money while bypassing.

Rabbit Hole helps to turn Nexus on fully with one card play while also helps to thin out the 50-large deck just a little. It's more costly then Access to Globalsec which could be a problem. This deck is hella expansive to set up!

Sunny's console and breakers cost 20 credits up front and afterwards her breakers aren't the cheapest of the bunch. Security Chip's help to make a few very cheap runs through any big server but you'll need alot of cash for any other runs. I've seen many builds with Datasuckers and Multithreader's and those might be the way to go but i'm not sure what cards to drop to make the influence space.

I feel that her deck almost needs 3 Modded and 3 Career Fair just to help her to afford to setup in this configuration. Her resources, hardware and programs are so costly to setup she needs the discount to keep up much needed tempo. It helps that there are alot of targets so none of them go to waste. That said it's probably still too slow. It needs alot to be set-up, though once it does it dominates late game. Clickless runs, clickless econ, clickless draw, free bypasses, free traces. Bonkers.

Some issues and thoughts about deck slots:

  • How many Zu.13 can we afford to spend influence on to make runs and setup cheaper?

  • Is Medium really the best way to spend 6 influence on?

  • Can you and should one find the card and influence space to include Suckers and/or Multithreader's?

  • Does it need protection cards (Plascrete, Film Criti, NACH)? I figured these are still very much open slots together with the third Earthrise Hotel.

  • Global Security Clearance worth it for the R&D lock?

I think it might be a good call to take out a Medium in favour of some Multithreaders. I also found the Criminal cloud breaker suite to be pretty useful for Sunny.

I'll also say that Globalsec Security Clearance turned out to be far more useful to me than I imagined it would be!
