Y U DO DIS ?!? v1.0

This deck is all kinds of evil. Or at least it aims to be.

The idea is to exploit the synergy between Blackguard and a few cards, but mainly Hacktivist Meeting and the upcoming Drive By (which is also in the System Crash draft set).

  • Blackguard: the Stealth Operative's console makes expose punishing, by forcing a rez whenever you expose something. It allows you to keep the Corp poor, which is already a good thing against tag n bag decks, for example.

  • Drive By: if you play this card when the console is installed, the Corp will have to rez the Asset or Upgrade, just so it is trashed at no cost immediately after. Way to waste credits.

  • Hacktivist Meeting: the main purpose of this card here is to somewhat counter the main problem Drive By has. If a card is rezzed, that Double becomes useless... so let's make rezzing cards very problematic as well. Moreover, if you expose a non-ice card when this current and the console are in play, they will have to rez and thus being forced to discard one card.

Now consider using Drive By when both Blackguard and Hacktivist Meeting are in effect... and you'll get the whole (evil) picture.

Just to pour salt on the Corp's wounds, I decided to add a couple copies of Satellite Uplink, to force a couple rez in one go.

All the rest is pretty common and straightforward, except for a few interactions.

  • Fisk Investment Seminar: giving more cards to the Corp when you have some HQ Interfaces installed is basically like accessing some new stuff from R&D. Considering I had no influence for some multiaccess on R&D as well, this might help. Additionally, it could also help your chances of getting some good random discards via Utopia Shard.

  • Bank Job: it's an awesome economy card, and you really need the huge burst it can provide, to pay for the expensive console. If you run an unrezzed remote, it might be a Jackson Howard, but if you have Hacktivist Meeting they might think twice about rezzing it to waste your run and your chance for some fat money.

Lots of things could be different in this deck, for example I'm not too happy about the rig... and would like to use Garrote, but it's too expensive to install, and there's already the crazy console price. There are also 42 cards and I'd like to go down to 40, but give how there's also 3 copies of Fisk Investment Seminar, it might be ok. Or I could remove Satellite Uplink entirely, if I see it's too much.

The economy as a whole has to be tested, but using Armitage Codebusting while you keep loading Kati Jones should provide more than enough.

Of course there are a few months left before Drive By and Fisk Investment Seminar are released, so there's plenty of time for adjustments and changes.

Wow. Sick interaction with Drive By and Blackguard. You learn something new every day.

It's indeed a very strong interaction. Kinda unfair, to be honest... especially since you can "drive by" the entire SanSan City Grid, for example... Oh well... :)

Anyway it seems I forgot the rule about additional costs, so Hacktivist Meeting would actually work in favor of the Corps, since they could refuse to pay the additional cost (the random discard) and thus avoid being forced to rez the asset/upgrade, before it gets trashed by Drive By. Dang!
