Starter deck: Eric's tear it all down!

ycombinator 789

A beginner deck for a friend. He only has Core, O&C, and Opening Moves.

This deck is supposed to do the runner equivalent of burning their house down. Don't like Ice? No problem, use Eater and Spooned, Knifed, and Forked to kill it! Use Parasite to get rid of the small annoying ice, especially with Datasucker. But you can eat through more than ice! Use Eater to attack HQ to Account Siphon them to bankruptcy, and Wanton Destruction their entire hand away.

Economy. You have to work for your money! Write code for contracts (Armitage Codebusting), or waste your time answering phones (Day Job). For such a bad ass, your work sure isn't that metal. Don't forget the criminal in you with your Account Siphons.

Interesting concept. Never imagined Edward as one who would have to care about tags, but I guess that's just me.

I however wonder why have Wanton Destruction in it? By using it, Edward's ability goes wasted. I think the card space could be better used.

@yokhen: I think themes are fun, and someone who will tear all aspects of the corp down is pretty fantastic. Think of Wanton Destruction this way: the packs he has don't have Legwork, so it is essentially an anarchy legwork that happens to fire with Eater. That's great synergy with what's in the deck!

He doesn't care about tags. Reread the first sentence ;-), Edward Kim: Humanity's Hammer's burning the house, not the corp.

How can it not care about tags when you have Armitage Codebusting and Ice Carver? They might be relatively cheap, but with a tag on, the corp can easily deprive you of half your economy.

@yokhen: Great point. I was missing that before. The problem is just that the deck would be too econ-light if we didn't have Armitage Codebusting in there (we're dealing with a small card-base). In the worst, case, you spent a and a to get them to spend 2 s and a ...in an econ denial deck. Seems OK to me ;-)
