Hopper Themed Express

thechops 7

This is my Hopper themed runner deck. Express is a runner on the move, as seen on early bird. This deck uses his ability to profit from running often and has a trick up his sleeve for every occasion. He can express deliver or special order the programs he needs and can retrieval run if they ever get trashed. He also works closely with Kati Jones and gets extra support from the Tri-maf.

I played a small tourney with a version of this before I added special order, but I had two of each breaker and cut a few run events. I had a hard time getting the breakers I needed, but otherwise it was fairly good at making money and pulling agendas. Again, this is a themed deck so that is why you'll see things like Exploratory Romp, Recon, and Calling in Favors.

I salute you for having the cojones to play this sir, and if you get half-decent results out of it then good for you.

Other flavoursome suggestions: Cram in some hostages, some more connections and an extra calling in favours - after all, Tenma probably still works as a courier when he's not hacking servers, so building some contacts makes sense.

Doppelgänger - The name suggests that it could be Tenma's console in-fluff, though nothing explicit confirms it. It works very nicely with run events in general - I've been running a version of the deck below off the San-San South podcast, and it works nicely.

Notice you've got 3X recon in there rather than 1X- is that purely because it's extra-fitting for Ken, or does it genuinely put in the work for you?

@DavyRam Yea. It was my fun deck built after playing the same deck over and over in prep for Regionals. I could see taking out two recons for couple copies of Doppleganger. I didn't think about the clone connection there, I like it... I think they missed an opportunity to add a mini hopper console... maybe they will sneak one in later.

Recon is nice once I have a public terminal out I gain a credit and can face check ice without having the sentry out, since my sentry is so expensive
