Virus Pit

My first go at a virus deck. I'm pretty new at this, looking to play at something other than casual. Any suggestions gladly accepted.

I believe a virus deck would benefit more from Noise: Hacker Extraordinaire than MaxX. Noise would give another mill option for Hades Shard. If you decide to stay with Maxx Professional Contacts wont be used as much.

You definitely need at least one more Grimoire, because it is so crucial in getting those counters on your viruses, and it works so well with Hivemind, AND it will enable you to replace MemStrips with something else. 3 Progenitor may be too much in my experience. Djinn is a good but expensive way to get programs you need out.

Look into Incubator.

Virus Breeding Ground is super slow, even if you have more than 1 out it takes an extra click to get another counter on a card.

Day Job seems to be the only economy. look into Daily Casts, Armitage Codebusting, Liberated Account, maybe even sure gamble.

I feel like I am just creating a new deck at this point, but I am just trying to give you options and mention cards that would work well. This is a good start and with every deck, build it and play it a few times and adjust as you go.

@Grimmaggro Thanks for giving some options!

I just built this one from scratch tonight after I got 'Order and Chaos' in the mail, so I haven't had a chance to see how the economy actually plays out. I've also never played a virus deck, so wasn't even aware of Incubator.

@theflatscanoh I didn't know that! I was in your shows about 3 months ago, I had just started playing and core set and order and chaos were the only cards I had.

Viruses are a lot of fun, especially when you get a good number of virus counters and every turn you get to watch the corp debate in their heads if they should purge now or not.

@Grimmaggro Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I picked it up. The other one I'm working on a more experimental deck with Chaos Theory: Wünderkind, Multithreader and Sunny Lebeau: Security Specialist's ice breakers.
