Space turtles

Haven't seen any Jemison decks on here yet, so here's one to chew on. Bear with me, because I definitely don't have this figured out yet. But it's a fun deck.

Like my Supermodern Russian Butlers deck, this imports an engine from a successful NBN list, in this case Team Turtles. Influence is tight as always, so no team sponsorships. Like last time, it's not as good as the original but is pretty unique.

The plan is to spam out assets while making money and score from hand. Oberth, Mumbad Construction, and even Friends in High Places can all score you points from hand. There's no plan against clot or slums or anything like that yet. That's for later on in this deck's life cycle. It'd also be nice to threaten a kill but ugh so little space in here. Jemison can fast advance faster than any other ID as far as I can tell. No time for anything else. You're giving up R&D accesses and relying on GFIs to save your butt.

No way this is ready for prime time yet. For now, I hope this is an inspiration to someone with some serious deckbuilding skill. Help make weyland not suck so bad!

Comments welcome.

Edit: Some play tips after a few rounds:

  1. Score a hostile or public sympathy

Then

  • 2(a) Score an overadvanced Atlas from hand. Install Oberth, Install atlas. Rez Oberth, forfeiting Hostile and putting 2 counters on atlas. Advance atlas, and oberth gives you an extra one.
  • 2(b) Score a GFI from hand. With an Oberth on the table, install GFI. Rex Oberth for 2 counters, advance for 2 counters, advance and score.
  • 2(c) Score an atlas from archives. With one counter on a construction co, FIHP the atlas and an oberth. Rez the oberth, forfeiting a Hostile or Public Sympathy for 2 counters. Pay 2 for the Construction co counter. Score. Edit: this doesn't work because Terminal. Ah well. Thx @JDCWolfpack for catching.

Next part of the train:

  1. score an overadvanced Atlas

Then

  • 2(a) Score an atlas from deck. With a rezed oberth, get your atlas and install advance advance
  • 2(b) Score a GFI from deck. With an unrezzed oberth and a Hostile or Public sympathy, grab your GFI, install, rez for 2 counters, advance to 2 counters, advance and score.

I'm pretty sure most decks are just a bear to deal with when they have the turtles package. Since you're not running super heavy ice, maybe consider dropping the 3rd Temple and CST for NAPD for some added defense. This frees up a slot for use however you see fit. Commercial Bankers Group would fill a similar role as Temple.

Also, 2(c) above doesn't work. There's no scoring window after FIHP. There's no scoring opportunities during the discard phase.

Good thoughts, thanks!

I went 3x Mumba temple because there are so many 2 cost assets. You can almost always get 2c of value out of the card (Rez before trash) and often you're 4c or more in before they get a chance to trash. Public support loves some Mumbas. But NAPD is strong too.

Ah, you're totally right about 2(c). Hence the terminal wording on FIHP I suppose. Someone was playing this wrong on JNet and I didn't catch them.

How does Mumbad construction help you when you have no face up agendas?

Ah yes, a holdover from when the agenda suite was different and I forgot that part of the text. Obvs needs to be changed! Maybe a tech startup to get Turtlebacks. Or a Corporate town for another Fa option.

@poorhaus If you're going to slot tech startup maybe consider Executive Boot Camp instead. It's not quiet as powerful for getting things to the table but it would let you rez an Archer at the beginning of turn giving you control over when it sacs an agenda so if the runner's not checking remotes you can score a naked GFI off the board.

On the Ice Suite consider Tour Guide, it's made for asset spam. Maybe drop the Meru's and Baliff for 2x Spider Web and 2x Sapper. Sapper gives your deck teeth, and if they trash it you can just Friend's it back. Spider Web taxes as much as Merumati, but doesn't care which server it's on. I'd also probably swap Wormhole and Orion for Tour Guide. There's just not enough econ in the deck to sustain them if you need to hard rez. If you face up against a Whiz with an early slums, all of your econ is destroyed. parasite on tour guide stinks, but at least it's not on an Archer or Macrophage.
