Val Faust Aggro

Brototurret 576

My Undefeated Runner deck at a local GNK tournament today (6-0). This deck is a monster. I feel that this is just as strong as Faust Noise , and strong in it's own way.

Val's BP is invaluable. Compund that BP with Desperado and Datasucker , and you can make value runs on the cheap. BP and desperado helps you turn off asset economy real hard. The scrubbers are in there for that as well. Only having to pay a single credit to trash a SanSan/Eve/Marked Accounts is pretty sweet. Trashing mental health clinics/sundews for PROFIT is even better.

This Val deck is meant to choke out the corp by being aggressive on centrals while threatening blackmail on remotes. Datasucker +Desperado is an oldie , but goodie , and still remains strong. The lone Atman is in there for pure synergy and how efficient it is against the common ice you'll find. Atman +Datasucker+Desperado +Val's BP is phenominal. You'll pretty much always run for a wash or profit.

Dirty Laundry in Val is pretty great too. But I'm pretty sure that doesn't really need to be explained.

Corroders to deal with Wraparound (or to save cards for other ice with faust) , Mimic for Swordsman , and a Yog as a backup/datasucker. I never needed the Yog all day , but I'd rather have it and not need it , then need it and not have it.

Clone Chips because duh. Parasite/instant speed anything I need. Faust gives me a card outlet to be able to instant speed install anything from my hand if need be.

Wyldside + Pancakes because anarch.

The MVP in this deck , and most other anarch decks nowadays , is Faust. Being able to pressure anywhere for effectively free is super strong. Is using Faust counterintuitive with Val's BP ? No , actually. The BP helps you trash anything you happen to hit. Desperado/Scrubber/BP allows you to trash pretty much anything you hit from anywhere. Think of her with a scrubber+BP as Whizzard with a more flexible ability.

The only corp deck that gave me any trouble was Haarpsichord Butchershop. I've Had Worse bailed me out of that game (thanks Deja Vu). But even post midseasons , which I let happen intentionally , I had the game completely locked down as I switched over to Atman/Datasucker instead of Faust.

Faust is only bad against damage decks. Even then , you just have to weigh your risks a lot more carefully. Manually draw additional cards and go from there. You'll play slower with Faust against damage decks than you would against non-damage decks , but you'll still be able to lock up the game if you play smart.

I would like to slot a Clot in here .. Perhaps drop a Medium for it , as I only installed the medium in one game. That was only because I had free runs on RnD and only needed one agenda to close out the game. Otherwise , I didn't really need a medium.

Looks quite similar to my build, except for few changes. I was wondering why your last 3 inf choice went to Atman instead of Levy, which seems more suited to Pancakes and Faust
