Ataraxia 1.0

robomagic 175

I started 2015 with the goal of creating a competitive Kit deck that could get me through just about any matchup at a tournament. Ataraxia 1.0 is this deck, and it took me to sixth place at Snakes and Lattes Store Championship (32 players).

Mulligan for Magnum Opus or Test Run to get it out on turn one and get money quickly. This deck relies on Torch to make the first break cheap and ruin any code gate shenanigans that a lot of corps seem to play around these days. After Torch is out test running or Self-modifying Code for Femme Fatale on the second piece of ICE to get a lock on their scoring remote or R&D. By the mid game you should have every breaker out with hopefully your Mimic or Atman in your heap to get around any deadly high strength sentries with a Clone Chip. At this point you win games by saving money with every Torch break and being able to cover the cost of expensive high strength sentries with Femme Fatale. As for using Cerberus "Lady" H1, I've never been more happy with a Fracter. I have enough recursion with scavenge to get me through just about everything I need. Great breaker.

A huge part of the strat here is using the turns the corp clicks for cards to grab eight creds a turn. Being assertive about gaining creds this way also helps the games go faster, which is always important at a tournament where you play slow corps more often.

Woman in the Red Dress is a personal touch I like in this deck. It throws off a lot of players and gives you a LOT of information for very little investment. Most importantly, it lets you know when to make your legwork runs to ensure they land successfully.

D4v1d is something I'm unsure about still. I included it as a solution for IT Department, but it seems like there aren't that many floating around in the Toronto meta, for all the worry about it being OP or whatever.

Oh, and Infiltration? That card has won me so many games. A must include for trap heavy corps and also making sure the second piece of ICE on that remote isn't going to lead to losing your breakers.

Finally, throw down two or three R&D Interface's and dig until you win.

This version is the product of about 6 weeks of playtesting against a variety of matchups, with its weakest matchup probably being an NEH fast advance that manages to get an Astro scored out in the first two turns. Replicating Perfection is also tricky, but I have a feeling that's a problem that all runners are dealing with, regardless of faction or ID.

Comments and suggestions are welcome! I have moved on from this specific build to experiment with my influence (dropped the D4v1d for two two Logos and possibly including a ZU.13 Key Master for early game pressure when I don't have Magnum up and running as fast as I want to).

Needs moar Access to Globalsec. Then it might be competitive.

@lukesim3 I think you're right. I find that every time I don't have that one extra link because of Access to Globalsec, I lose for reasons all too clear.
