HB:ZED

HepatitvsJ 244

A variation of my HB:Sensei deck. This deck loses 1 ASH, 3 NEXT Bronze, 2 rototurret, for +3 ZED, +3 Viktor 1.0. The goal is to get a ZED before a click ICE. I feel it's valuable to run low barrier ICE simply to force the corp to find the Corroder but not reward him by forcing him to rely on clicks or code gate/sentry breakers more. Yog is uncommon in my meta so constantly breaking even Viktor 1.0 is tough. The sensei can add EtR to ZED or Ichi 1.0 (as well as another sensei!) so the plan is to force the player to click or build a rig to get anywhere safely. Tournament Saturday I'll be testing this or HB:Sensei at. I'll report results then. Opinions on playing this over HB:Sensei?

I have a stronger together version with sensei I've been aching to play. This resolves the Yog pains with viktor 1, effectively making him a code-gate eli, and makes eli even better! I think maybe your deck might benefit from going ST as well, putting in something else for paper wall?

Nah. The economy from EtF is worth more than more INF.(edit: I realized you were talking about stronger together. You're right! ST is a solid option and I will think about it.I'll likely keep JackHo in ST and not put in chum.) the whole point of the deck is to force the runner to be inefficient at breaking. Sensei makes Ichi and Zed EtR ICE as well as making other ICE better but EVERYBODY runs Corroder and will get it out. Why reward them with a bunch of ICE They built to break easily? Force the runner to break 4+ str code gate and sentries or click through them taking whatever routines you can't clickbreak. I want to get chum in here too though. The paper wall is meant to stop early game then get out of the way when Corroder shows up and let ELI do its job otherwise. With just ELI a runner could choose to not search for Corroder. I've been debating dropping JackHo for +3 chum. 4 str and adds +2 str to Ichi (6 str means 6+ creds to break with ninja, 3 DS tokens with mimic, faerie is limited, etc) or +2 to Viktor 1.0 which is more yog avoidance which means more forced click through or less efficient CG breaker. ZED is actually what I'm most unsure about. Only play testing will see if it is worth including. Its 1 str is a big redeeming quality though...it costs at least 4 for a ninja to break (ignoring datasucker, personal touch, etc) I'm also debating -2 ASH for +2 Tyres hand. A good option for making a runner spend clicks and still not getting in. Less reliable later game, but solid for early-mid and FA is all about early-mid wins so worth a thought. Thanks for the comment! :)

One option to add yet another in HB:ST is to add experiential data, further pushing ice out of fixed breaker's zone of comfort, its cheap to rez and costs to trash.

I thought about that but km going with FA so I want to have extra ways to hard stop if I need which doesn't leave me any space for anything else. The tyrs hand is good for stopping some one from getting past a Viktor 2.0 even if it's the only ICE on the remote. If it's rezzed or not, if they try to click past it just trash tyrs hand to stop the EtR from being broken. With the amount of Bioroid ICE I have I thin tyrs hand fits better than ASH as long as I save a Viktor 2.0 for the remote. I did think of ED specifically for the +1 str to rototurret which puts it into 5c to break instead of 2 for ninja but it's too limited and cheap to trash.
