Ninja Macaroni 1.0

pastorn 30

Here are some thoughts on how to play this deck and motivations behind the choices made.

Replicator

Try to get a Replicator out as soon as possible. After that, play a cheap hardware to get another copy of it (most are 2x). Not to quickly though! You want to use Macs ability each turn. For anyone unfamiliar with Replicator, you'll only want to draw cards when you know it won't be any hardware already in play. Having a Replicator out will save you around 8 clicks when building this rig.

Breakers

Switchblade is chosen over Dagger because the sentries I usually run in to have more than one subroutine (Grim being the exception). 2 x Silencer, 2 x Cloak and 3 x Ghost runner should be enough stealth credits to beat even the nastiest of Jinteki servers. So Switchblade, Deus X and 3 x Clone Chip should be able to deal with most stuff any corp will throw at you. Corroder is chosen primarily because it's very cheap, so getting it out will be easy.

Economy

Some have suggested to switch out Armitage Codebusting for Professional Contacts. That's a terrible idea! Most of this deck is build around lots of cheap cards that quickly builds up a powerful rig. Aesop's Pornshop is at the center of the economy. Sell everything and your mum to him! Not only does he synnergise well with both Daily Casts and Armitage Codebusting, you should also have no qualms about selling Ghost Runners when they have just one credit left on them. The 2 x Lab Acces will make them come back. Selling Clone Chips is also not uncommon.

Multi-Access

With 3 x Self-modifying Code you should be able to get either Medium or Nerve Agent out pretty easily (shouldn't be a memory problem either). The viruses are chosen above other cards because of economical and space reasons. Medium requires one card and 2/3 credits (+2 with SMC, so usually 4/5). 3 x RDI Interface will require 9/12 credits and two clicks more to get out - a huge hit! Getting 3-4 successful runs in a turn shouldn't be that troublesome once all the recuring stealth credits are available.

Console

As it stands now, Astrolabe is the console. With a Replicator and the pornshop out you should sell it the turn after installing it and install the one in your hand. That's 3 credits for one click, very much worth it. See comments below.

Where to go from here

This deck is very tight for space, already at 46 cards. So any changes will have to switch some stuff around.

The console might switch from Astrolabe to Dinosaurus.

Might switch from Medium to Keyhole. As of now this deck has zero pressure on archives. Could be good to add that.

If the amount of stealth credits shows to be too few adding one more Cloak might be necessary.

Other cards that would fit in this deck, if space was available:

  • John Masanori
  • The Helpful AI
  • Net Celebrity
  • Escher
  • Tinkering
  • The Personal Touch

As a final note: Big thanks to desertfox14 on reddit for his comments!

Thinking A LOT about how to deal with Curtain Wall and how to be able to apply early pressure. I have come up with two solutions.

First, let us find some card space!

Yes, this sucks to do, but it's the only thing can take out without disturbing any synnergies (well, there's Sure Gamble, but this isn't crazy Noise).

Since there's no Battering Ram or Gordian Blade in this deck, stacked ICE of the same type might be a problem if we make it to mid-late game, or if an early Accelerated Beta Test is lucky. With 3x Ghost Runner making just ONE successful run one of these servers souldn't be impossible. So let's include

Sure, anti-synnergetic (is that a word?) with Nerve Agent, but the benefit by far outweighs it.

So the other two cards?

It will allow this deck to but on early pressure and be able to run at unknow nastyness. The ability to be able to make an unexpected run while appearing too busy rig-building is great. And against Blue Sun I'll use my trusty Switchblade to get throug that Curtain Wall without breaking a sweat. I mean, that Ghost Runner money has to be used some time, right?

With events in the deck:

Going up to 47 cards by adding 1x Same Old Thing might be feasible.

Forgot to mention the other solution:

This got rid of the problem with "Dinosaurus or Astrolabe" AND works with Replicator. But I find my first solution better.

hey, awesome deck. very inspiring. how is going with your deck on tournament levels?

have you ever thought of rabbit holes in this deck in synergie with pornshop to thin out your deck and get credits? (also a way to skip some diesel or sure gambles).
