l1quifi3r 0.1 - first attempt at meltdown (comments welcome)

suibne 2

Had to build one around the pancake card (Adjusted Prototype) :D (yes i bought that pack especially for the art on that card..)

Apart from that, it's all about bringing the ice low enough so I can trash it. Wish I had another Aesop's Pawnshop, but I think day job and sure gamble will keep me afloat money-wise? .. Also, I hope this is a viable tactic to unleash the parasites.

Tips more than welcome..

Day job will be awkward to hold during those turns where you have only wyldside. I'd change it to dirty laundry, or queens gambit.

No datasucker is definitely wrong, need more viruses to trigger Noise.

-2 vigil +1 grimoire +1 datasucker (if you don't have 2 cores...then okay, i'd do 1 vigil, if any, and use the slots for more viruses) -2 memstrips +2 datasucker -1 wyrm +1 medium

Thats assuming you have limited card pool.

Thanks! Yes, only 1 core set.. I was hoping Adjusted chronotype would fix the wyldside+dayjob problem. But I see what you mean.

Your feedback + that of the Stimhack slack has resulted in netrunnerdb.com

I'll hold off publishing a new one, to keep track of comments, if any.

I would just drop vigil altogether, I've run 1 Grimoire before and it should be enough especially with a single memstrips. I also agree with Wyrm, it's basically useless. Add medium/datasucker. You also have Gravedigger which is a decent enough virus card even without imp.

-2 vigil -2 wyrm -1 memstrips +2 datasuckers +2 medium +1 gravedigger would be my immediate reaction.

Wouldn't that limit my chances on getting enough memory? Low chance on memstrip and low chance on grimoire?

The problem with Wyrm, in case no one has explained, is it's an icebreaker, and it says somewhere in the rules that an icebreaker can't interact with ice until the strength is equal or higher to the ice. So having to boost Wyrm just to pay more credits to bring the ice back down is not cheap.

You also can't have more than one console in play at a time, so having both Vigil and Grimoire in your deck AND 2 mem strips is overkill, because one of those consoles is going to come up after you've already installed it, and you'll just have to sad face.

1 Grimoire and 2 Mem strips should be more than enough memory. You're not likely to have all your programs installed in any specific game, anyway. Thing is that you're drawing 2 cards per turn most of the game, so you're bound to see the hardware at the right time.

If you have The Underway, Faust is a way better icebreaker than Wyrm, especially if you're using Wyldside/Adjusted Chronotype. Check out this deck for some ideas: netrunnerdb.com

But that's all I can suggest. Medium is also the best virus card in the game by far, 10/10 would recommend.

Thanks a lot for all the great comments! Yeh i forgot that wyldside will be faust fuel.. At some point I knew, but it gets overwhelming quick, for me anyway.

I've resulted in this: netrunnerdb.com .. giving it a go against a colleague tomorrow. Thanks again!

Wyrm should literally never be used to break ice. The include isnt strictly bad, as it works with data sucker, and can sometimes span the gap of ice strength, keeping an odd sucker here or there, or to trash a parasited ice. Its not like runner econ is as bad as it used to be. Converting credits into dead ice is a winning proposition for the runner.

That said....sifr is out now.

All suggestions here are good. The latest deck you've posted looks like a solid start. I would play some games and see how it works out. One worry I still have is if it's worth to go to 3 wyldside? One aesop is a bit sad but might still be better than nothing...

As it seems like you have Creation and Control, would it be feasible to consider Levy AR Lab Access instead of a, say, Clone Chip?

Great discussion, and well aimed at a beginner in perspective. Well done peeps.

I've just tried it in a friendly game against my wife (her first time and she lost by 1 point..). I had issues trying to gain momentum. I think it's me tho, I spend too much time/credits on installing my rig, then run out of money and become X agenda points behind as I've hardly done a single run. I only won because of flooding Medium with virus counters and accessing a bucket load of R&D.

Parasites never appeared until very late in the game :/ Levy might be interesting (I had 2 Clone chips but nothing in my heap), also a nice reset when I run out of cards due to Wyldside? (I don't know if that ever happens tho)

This discussion has given me quite some insights, now it's up to me to put this deck into practice. Thanks again all ;)
