Prototype Jinteki RP / PA Grid

bubo 351

This is an early prototype of the Jinteki Replicating Perfection with Port Anson Grid deck that I'm developing.

I need some input regarding the economy status of the current draft, the ICE mixture, and Agenda mixture.

The idea behind this is that Port Anson Grid will force the Runner to run the Centrals in their entirety prior to attempting any remotes. With that in mind, we want the Centrals to be as taxing as possible, preferably with Damage. Archive will primarily host Bullfrogs to throw the Runner onto HQ or R&D.

  1. Is Profiteering / Veterans Program worth the hassle for the economy bump?
  2. Does Medical Breakthrough fit in this build?
  3. Is Jackson Howard and Reclamation Order worthwhile in light of Executive Retreat, or should I shift to full Jackson or full Reclamation?
  4. Is Ronin a sufficient followup to the ICE mixture, or should I shift to EMP or import some Weyland meat damage?
  5. Does Mushin no Shin pull it's weight in this environment, or does the economy leave him twiddling his thumbs?

I'm still working on my version of a competitive build, but wanted to get this out for discussion. I've not seen an RP build with Port Anson Grid yet, so I wanted some external views on how this plays out to help round out my build.

One thing I realized early is that Port Anson is going to significantly decrease the number of runs that the Runner attempts on the affected Centrals. PA can be bypassed with sacrificial software, but that's going to be a high cost to pay every time. With that in mind, I realized that most traps like Project Junebug are probably going to be dead draws. Snare! and Shock! may have some value here, but I really want to take advantage of the increased privacy my remotes will have in this environment.

About agendas : I'm not sure about medical breakthrough. But if you want to force the runner to go all the way through your centrals, he might as well access cards. So I'd put a lot more fetals and NAPDs. It'd be harder for you to score them, but you always find an opportunity in RP decks...

What about Enhanced Login Protocols out of RP? With one in play, you're looking at the runner only having one click a turn to install/econ/draw/etc. if he wants to run a remote.

@pants on head: I like that! It only affects their first run, so they'd have 2 available after the central attempt. Still, reducing Runner clicks is always worthwhile (why are you so expensive, Ruhl?) and synergizes greatly with the taxing gauntlet here. I've dropped Lag Time and Reclamation Order to bring in Enhanced Login Protocols, and I'm weighing dropping a RSVP for a second copy.
