Montreal Meta Specific 1-1 @GNK Montreal 2024-08-13

Diogene 4247

Esa tuned to the Montreal meta. Went 1-1 (5th of 12) at Montreal GNK 2024-08-13.

  • Lost vs Eric on NEH.
  • Won vs Cullen on PD.

Use Labor Rights as soon as you get it, it is not meant to extend the deck, but to get to you main pieces (Chastushka, Botulus, Running Hot) as fast as possible, while sometime getting extra value from Steelskin Scarring and Strike Fund.

No Free Lunch is there to counter Public Trail and Distributed Tracing, which are very prevalent in this meta full of End of the Line. And it is always a click for 3 otherwise.

Stoneship Chart Room for out of turn draw or click to draw 2 cards.

The only breaker is Begemot, because it invalidate about a third of the corp ices usually, leaving the rest up to Tsakhia "Bankhar" Gantulga, Botulus and Boomerang.

Divide and Conquer forces you to check Archive, while also giving you a chance in R&D and HQ. After you use it once, it will push the corp to ice up archive.

As usual, you want to sabotage as early as possible. Boomerang + Chastushka on turn one is perfectly correct. Bonus if you can do yourself a core damage on the same turn. Sabotage will remove option for the corp, even if no agendas were sabotaged. Sabotaging ices is the next best thing.

Outside of the Montreal meta, which is currently heavy on tags and Jinteki: Personal Evolution, you could remove the AirbladeX (JSRF Ed.) (I really like that card).

Game report :

1st game against Eric, with a asset spam Near-Earth Hub: Broadcast Center. I lost because I did not hold to a Steelskin Scarring and Reaper Function, along with Bladderwort did 6 damage, even with 4 cards in hand. The game was tight.

2nd game vs Cullen with a regular Haas-Bioroid: Precision Design. After Sabotaging 22 cards (half his deck), Cullen was almost decked and I won by checking archive.

Thanks to all participants and specially to Odonuvo for organizing the event. It was a lot of fun.

Cheers!
