The MedTech Hustle

WardOfTheWoods 710

My take on a fast advance MedTech. Everyone and their mothers runs just 6 agendas in MedTech, I'm running 7 to see them more consistently. The deck has strong econ and some pretty taxing ICE that's also relatively cheap to rez (this IS fast advance, after all). Should the runner get net damage, Tori Hanzo is there to punish them further.

Hm, you have got exactly to agendas which could be actually "fast advanced" and those are the second and the third Medical Breakthrough. I am not sure if its worth to run three biotic labor if there is only one breakthrough (the 3/2) which profits from it - this seems like a waste on influence). You are probably better off with just using Mushin No Shin for your purpose, because it also helps you advancing your traps and/ or your 5/3 agendas.

I would probably decide on one theme and either go full FA or go for the 6x 5/3-Deck for consistency. :)

Oh, and if you decide to go into a FA-direction i would recommend SanSan City Grid over Biotic Labor, because it pressures the runner and leaves you with three more influence, which can be used for Jackson Howard for example.

Fair enough, I have the econ to support San San for sure. I'll keep that in mind for the next iteration of the deck!

Something i did with a FA-version of HM was to only use two SanSan City Grid and three Ice Wall and three Jackson Howard.

If you can fit in Mushin No Shin and Trick of Light fast advancing agendas and setting up a trap gets pretty easy. Its even possible to use Mushin No Shin on a SanSan City Grid. If the runner is not able to trash it in time you can either use ToL or the SanSan itself to fast advance. If this doesn't work out you can just advance your Ice Wall and advance from them.

The deck worked out pretty well, but meanwhile the deck has gotten weaker to a certain degree, because of the recent spreading of Whizzard: Master Gamer and the heavy use of cards like Imp, though.
