Daredevil Bankhar Lat (and some musings on grief)

Hey all,

just came back to Netrunner after quite a hiatus of mourning for my beloved Thrillseeker (Oh my dearest civet! Where hast thou gone, Wu?) I found myself left with nothing but her remains.

Then, there is Bankhar, which seems quite strong in Anarch. The Flavor Text says something about enduring Pain, so I thought it might help. Reversing the long tradition of breaking green Cards in orange, I decided to give it a try. The basic idea being that you run a two ICE (Remote?)-Server, Bankharing the first Ice with the Daredevil draw and then Engoloing whatever is left. This actually works gorgeous with Into the Depths, as does Bankhar in General. If you get Bankhar T1, you can into the Depths any Server T2 and search and find your Engolo! The Cost of it is of course, that you loose a lot of cards, but Shaper has Simulchips, which makes the heap quite toolboxish, allowing you to find any Programs that were just trashed.

The Id here is Lat, as it gives you tons of draw, which is good for Bankhar.

All in all, Lat can use Bankhar and Daredevil to get a lot of deck control between draw, SMC and Simulchip, which is to me the most Shaper thing (and the reason I love Artist Colony and, Oh my oh my, Kabonesa Wu!). Also it allow you in contrast to Esa to play a lot of tech in Misdirection, Turbine and Clot. You can run out of Steam, so HART might be worth a slot in here. Nuka over Diesel, because of Into the Depths. Further potential changes include adding Steelskin and Earthrise (Into the Depths!). Clippy (for Inf) and Clot (also for Inf) you could loose, Turbine might be cuttable for slots. But if you cut Turbine and Clot, I think Esa just does the Job better.

Conduit is actually good if you get two cards per RND run and can Bankhar it.

Happy to get some Feedback on this list!

PS: After all, playing ITD here refutes Richard III in Henry VI, who said that too weep would be to make less the depths of grief. True weeeping means going into the depths of grief, just for the thrill! ;)

I like the idea here a lot - but I have a memory of trying daredevil in Anarch Bankhar decks and not liking the fact that I had less control over what I was losing.

Maybe this is a deck for buffer drive - (probably not though!)

Does make me want to consider a Kyhshuk deck with a bunch of 1 costs though (Nuka, Telework, Bankhar, Propeller, Simulchip etc.) maybe I’ll give this a go soon.

Either way nice to see you back!

Hello! Thanks for the lovely welcoming!

@Baa Ram Wu: I think simulchip does a lot here - I tend to not worry about cards in Hand and just think of running with Daredevil as a Maxx-like ability. The important thing is, in the same vein, to get your chips down, so you can install conduit or the tech midrun later. A lot of the rest of the Deck is just economic air, so you don't care about it being ditched. This leads to Khusyuk - I think it might be okay, but in another deck :D. First, it is eventbased multiaccess, which you can't recurr with chip (contrary to conduit) . The other thing is, that you run with a minimal rig, only installing stuff when you need it, most of the time midrun, so it is common to only have one breaker installed and Bankhar and maybe Conduit or a chip. Khusyuk really wants you to build a rig before you run, which is not really what Bankhar incentivizs you to do. I like Clippy over Propeller for the Heapsynergies aswell.
