Credit Denial v0.1

MikeCobra 1

Haven't really played in ages, so this is my first attempt at deckbuilding since before C&C.

The idea is to use Reina's ability, along with Xanadu, to keep the cost of rezzing ICE high.

To keep the corporation's credits too low to do anything, we have Account Siphon and Vamp. Lawyer Up gives a cost-efficient way to remove the tags that this will result in.

In the event that ice is rezzed, we have parasites to kill it and a multitude of AI-breakers to force our way through.

To ensure we keep our own cash high enough, we have a large number of income options. Liberated Accounts and Daily Casts provide the backbone, with Sure Gamble to help the deck set up in the early game. Scheherazade and Gorman drip I am more uncertain of. The idea behind including Scheherazade should be clear, I have a large number of Caissa programs, though this may be the first thing that needs changing in later versions of the deck. I felt that the deck may force the Corp into many "basic" actions to try and get going, hence the Gorman Drip.

In the case the Corp gets a significant amount of credits, we can use Running Interference and Rook to increase the rez costs even higher.

Finally, we have Deja Vu to recur any Caissa lost to trashing and parasites.

Criticism would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! Liking your deck idea, some things though:

  1. Caissas and Scheherazade don't really work well together. You can only move your pawns off of it, so if you don't want to host all your breakers on it as well, Pawn and Gorman would be the only programs to be hosted there.

  2. Going all-AI can be a bit risky (in my meta people use Swordsman). How about adding Mimic? Also, Darwin as a one-off without tutoring (Djinn? special Order?) seems kinda random to me. In how many games will you have Darwin on the table early enough for it to accumulate the needed virus tokens without Surge, Grimoire etc.?

  3. Ok, three points: Gorman Drip is not a viable income source. I tried it and got burned. Maybe if you had Imp, you could make sure to deplete the corps' other means of making money (like trashing money Operations). Otherwise, consider removing it or adding more money cars. For my tastes, you could cut some of the caissas. Having all three times is a lot, if you ask me.

Cheers!

Hi TiltingAtCthulhu! Thanks for your advice, it's massively appreciated.

  1. I'm thinking of dropping both Caissa and Scheherazade, possibly keeping Rook. This would allow me to pick up a load of viruses, which could help me for various reasons. Medium could be useful as I expect little resistance getting into R&D for multiple runs, allowing me to dig deep for those precious agendas. If I do manage to get a load of virus tokens on my side of the board, then forcing the corp to purge will reduce the amount of time they have to do useful things like get credits.

  2. Yeah, I can see how AI could be quite risky. When I built the deck, I thought the can't be AI broken card was just a spoiler. However, going down the virus path could help here too. I think I will drop the Knights, and go up to 3x Crypsis and 2x Darwin. These help add to the virus pressure mentioned above. I will also take 2x Mimic and 2x Yog.0. Combined with adding in some Datasuckers, this should allow me to power through any weaker ICE (which I what they are most likely to be able to afford) and speed up the deaths of parasited ICE. A couple of Djinn as well should allow me to handle the memory of all this, and tutor when I'm desperate.

  3. Gorman Drip v1 will go. However, Imps will still go in. With all the digging in R&D I'm hoping to do, I should be able to cut off some of their income before they even see it. If I have space left after all this, I'll consider the possibility of having some more money.

Other options I'm considering are ICE Carver, for the same reasons as Datasucker and Scrubber, so I can easily trash any pesky Assets that try and give my mortal enemy some credits.

Thanks for the advice, time for v0.2!
