Mystic Harmony 1st @Montreal District 2025-03-29

Diogene 4569

1st place at Montreal District Championship, 2025-03-29. The deck went 2-1 on the day.

Round 2 : Win vs Meleas on Amani Senai Sportsmetal: Go Big or Go Home.

Round 3 : Win vs weltgeist on Anemone Weyland Consortium: Built to Last.

Round 5 : Loss vs Leo Djupstad Grid Azmari EdTech: Shaping the Future by Punitive Counterstrike.

I did not get to play the runner side in the top cut.

Deep dive for the win and control the board.

Game plan : setup fairly fast to Deep Dive for the win.

Mulligan plan : Aniccam or Spark of Inspiration in hand.

Change from my previous deck :

Tread Lightly has more uses for a Deep Dive deck, as it let us in on a server. Fencer Fueno and Scrubber are the cheap replacement for Miss Bones, to have the influence for Mystic Maemi, which provide us with a good economic boost.

With Hannah "Wheels" Pilintra, this becomes a good way to control asset spam, while possibly giving us that extra click for Deep Dive.

The deck seldom feels poor, as there is A LOT of economy in the deck, especially since you can get econ cards back. Harmony AR Therapy help putting back an Orca that got in hand too early and had to be trashed. But will also get back Deep Dive and economy cards.

The main advice for this deck is this : install Lobisomem as soon as you can. Either from hand or from Spark of Inspiration. Yes, paying 8 is painful, but the whole deck is around that breaker, it is that good. The worst ice for us is probably Endless EULA, because we have to pay 6 to break no matter what. Otherwise, Lobisomem allows us to for the corp to rez nearly everything.

DJ Fenris is usually for Nyusha "Sable" Sintashta: Symphonic Prodigy, but according to circonstances, you could use René “Loup” Arcemont: Party Animal (against asset spam), Steve Cambridge: Master Grifter (against Jinteki: Personal Evolution) or Quetzal: Free Spirit (against glaciers). Very versatile. Using Deep Dive to find one agenda is good enough, you don't have to wait to be able to get to 5 clicks.

Big thanks Andrej for organizing and judging the event, we were 18 players and it was a blast!

Cheers!

Love your take on Kit. I'd been playing a modified Grug Goes to The Library for my districts, and I did love it in the current meta. Did you miss Rigging Up at all? Was the Steelskin Scarring a meta-call over a Miss Bones?

Didn't love it is what I meant to write.

@Ketzol, I never missed Rigging Up, even when I installed Lobisomem from hand, paying 8.

Miss Bones is great for asset spam, but does nothing for anything you discover while looking in centrals. Fencer Fueno and Scrubber can fill in for Miss Bones for less influences, which Kit sorely lacks.

Steelskin Scarring is a meta call. There are a lot of kill deck currently. While it does nothing for Reeducation decks, but against most Punitive Counterstrike deck or Jinteki: Personal Evolution, it is good. It also help resolve the main issue of the deck : finding Spark of Inspiration. Because it acts like a 4th Diesel, it allows me to overdraw to find Spark of Inspiration or Lobisomem.

The deck has a LOT of economy and draw. 20 cards either gives us credits or saves us credits. 10 cards are there for draw, of those 10, Aniccam basically transform every event as a free draw. This is because we basically only really need Lobisomem, which makes out breaking ice package really light.

I found this deck, and its previous iterations, to be fairly resilient in most meta. The only downside of it is that sometime (about one game in 20), both Lobisomem AND all the Spark of Inspiration are buried in the bottom 15 cards. But in my experience, that is true for most deck, where sometime the draw is NOT in your favors.

Those are actually good odds, in my opinion. Does that answer your question?

Cheers!
