Stockholm Regionals 2015 Replicating Perfection (2nd place)

RTsa 362

The regionals was 6 rounds of swiss, then played corp 3(?) times in eliminations. Last allowed data pack was Breaker Bay (so no Net-Ready Eyes and a horde of Yog.0s yet). My choice for runner was a 'Good Stuff' Valencia deck. Both did quite well with Valencia dropping a bit more games, notably my both losses in the elimination rounds.

The deck isn't straight up derived from any list, but it's quite standard RP with ELPs. I went with only 2x 3-pointers and while I had some trouble finding the TFP and sometimes had to score 4x 2-pointers, after scoring the first Nisei Mk II, there usually wasn't much threat of game winning accesses for the runner anymore. However, even if the deck pretty regularly won me the game by eventually locking the runner out almost completely, it also almost always took way too much time. That might just be my play style, but I really don't want to take this type of RP to another Tournament - I went to time at least twice, with a couple very close calls. You know it's been a long game when Kate's deck runs out after using a Levy once!

Faced at least 3 Whizzards (a meta call made by the other players, trying to combat NEH and RP) but as inconsistent Anarchs they weren't that threatening in the end. Just need to Ice up remotes with anything to tax them out and/or play ELP. As for ELP, it was always great. Saw 0 runner currents, so it usually stayed online for a long time, taxing the runner and when it didn't tax (due to Maker's Eye + Dirty Laundry and other such shenanigans) it made sure the runner didn't run my econ assets regularly.

The Fetal AIs were kind of nice, I guess..I made the call to put in only 2 NAPDs to not get screwed by Valencia, but didn't see many in the Tournament anyway. The Fetals were sometimes very nice especially vs criminal players. Didn't get a flatline with them, but at least one runner wisely didn't play Legwork because I had shown the Fetals with Celebrity Gift. Also scored at most 2-3 of them during the day, but they were nice to keep in HQ.

The ICE is heavily based on taxing Corroder/Lady and it did seem to work quite nicely. It's also trying to dodge the stealth Switchblade/Refractor Andy build, but I did not see any during the tournament. Hitting Excalibur was harder than during practice, but it did do work in a couple of games. The Cricks are really nice, wouldn't cut down to only one. It's very good everywhere, really (but maybe not after Chrome City?).
