Darwin Reina

Lichtenstein 1

Darwin is really neat for Reina (whom I consider STRONGLY drawn to Rook and therefore the Caissa side of Anarch), since: - It actually makes Bishop useful. - Switching the full breaker suite for Darwin leaves MU for Keyhole and a single ICE denial tool (Parasite, Crescentus) at hand.

The single Emergency Shutdown is mostly a trick to scare the corp into properly defending the HQ (we want those sweet rez creds).and maybe working around a problem once in a while.

I'd really love to have some Deja Vu here, but there's only so much space.

I like the concept to use Darwin/Knight in a Reina/Rook/Xanadu deck, it gives really the impression you can enter everywhere. Bishop is a great program with Darwin. I'm interested about the hardware, I read your comment on the CZCuckoo "Chess Darwin" deck about the E3. Have you already tested this deck? Does the Cyberfeeder alone provide what you need to break routines without starving for credits? There are only 6 econ cards + Professional Contacts (Darwin will cost 1 credit also to raise its strenght). In your experience is it enough?

Yeah, I've got a fair bit of fun with it already, just kept it private.

The first Cyberfeeder is absolutely crucial, to soak up the costs of pumping the whale. The rest are cherries on top.

I guess I get away with econ by explicitly carving out the optimal environment for Darwin: The high rez costs make it hard to get problematic high-strength ICE or too many pieces of it to break. I exploit last-click keyhole runs on stuff like Viper or Enigma, as it's not Medium and you can do your digs piecemeal. Then, I tear most of what I see down to make the corp outspend me AND keep the total subroutine numbers down. Once you have pumping covered by a Cyberfeeder, Bad Pub is pretty sweet with Darwin. Go hard after econ with Keyhole, the less cash corp has, the less you have to worry about spending on anything.

An earlier iteration of this deck also had 2x Surge, but I found out people don't really purge viruses all that often, since it's somewhat tricky to set up the timing windows to stop Reina.
