1st and Undefeated (2-0) at Vienna Offbeat GnK, shoutout to the Vienna meta for amazing people and cool events.
I knew I wanted to explore Pravdivost Consulting: Political Solutions or Thunderbolt Armaments: Peace Through Power for the tournament.
The last time I tried building Thunderbolt, I was inspired to build a deck using Lightning Laboratory to rez Tyr and Cloud Eater at a discount, which was fun - who doesn't love Ziggurats? But also not super strong.
This time I dug a little deeper and started thinking about what the best way to leverage TB might look like. The best thing you can do in this ID currently is to rez Tithe.
Or as per my incomplete notes:
'My ID says 'on rez my ap or destroyer is slightly more taxing, +2c to get through' So we want to rez cheaply, repeatedly, to make it worthwhile.
Ways to derez:
Hakarl Brasilia lil uzi divert Warm Reception
Question becomes whether we go all in on rezzing and derezzing, or if we remain on rezzing strictly things that trigger our ID.'
Figured the best way to consistently derez cards was Stegodon MK IV, since it not only does it over and over, but also rewards you for doing it, essentially making the Tithe rez free.
Parallel to this, I've been developing a Tucana Harmonics build for a while, the idea being that if you can put an Echo on every server that matters early and then keep making flippy floppy all over the servers with your other Harmonicae your Echoes will turn utterly cacophonic with 10+ subroutines.
That deck started out in Sportsmetal: Go Big or Go Home, because it's the best ID for a critical mass of 1pters to turn on Tucana, but being in TB actually turned out well for me because it made me focus on my ice suite instead of getting lost in the world of Core Damage, Negative Points Experiences and Upgrade Spam, creating massive slot kerfuffles.
With 2 spare influence I slotted a random Anemone which wound up becoming 3 over time. Anemone is another good example of an ice that is excellent to rez repeatedly, TB making it so that the first time it is, it may actually end a run, and from then on out you can keep pitching Subliminals to slowly G-word I mean tempo them out.
Bloop is another excellent ice for TB, 6Str + Stegodon power drain usually does a number on the runner's economy, and Vovô Ozetti + Tranquility Home Grid tie together a low-to-the-ground econ suite that can create deceptive board states about the true ability to rez.
I'll probably go back to brewing Jinteki once Elevation drops, but it's always fun to spend a bit of time at Haas-Bioroid:Lewi Guilherme Edition.
Just gotta keep making them pay the Tithe...

Thank you very much Eden, I work hard on my surrealist torture chambers disguised as Corp decks. If you expect ice destruction, you can be tactical, understanding that you can't rely on Echo as a long-term play entirely. Hoshiko tends to burn out due to her neurological sensitivity, so we can play that angle harder, especially against Audrey decks without Ashen EP. She probably doesn't encrypt her Hard Drive that well, Buffer can't save her. You can also be strategic, if you call the meta to have too much IDestruction, we can call on our good friends Warroid Tracker. They're not gonna be happy sacrificing their companions just to crack an ice. |

Divert power might be nice for derezzing, also gives extra draw with Spin Doc. |

Yeah I thought about it (I call it lil uzi divert), the crux of it is we have nothing expensive to rez with it. Not that you couldn't, ofc. I suspect Brasilia is the other good way to derez ice atm, but Bloop aside there's nothing awful enough to facecheck into atm, so... different build. |
this is horrible. congratulations. what does the gameplan look like into ice destruction? i would guess that you're kinda okay with echoes getting trashed if it means they're not trashing your bloops?
