Pre-rotation decklist |
I put this deck together from the remains of Takeshi's Castle which I have been playing since it was published on NetrunnerDB last month. It has some pet cards (I love On The Lam) and some meta calls that worked to varying degrees. Here is how it performed:
1st Round: PE ft. 24/7 and EOI - Win
Dream start to this match. My hand was Employee Strike, two Siphon, RDI, and whatever else. I put down the strike, ran one of his two remotes, stole the agenda, bounced his HQ ice, and siphoned. Every play after that went my way. I saw agendas when I needed them, and only ever saw Vanilla rezzed thanks to my economic pressure. I won this game pretty quickly.
2nd Round: Titan FA - Win
This match went a little longer. I knew he wasn't on kill cause I drove up with him and he plays at my store. He was on Trick of Light with Anson Rose, so I knew that it was important to keep ice from rezzing, bounce it, kill Anson, and steal his agendas before he stole them. I mostly kept on top of this all. My one misplay of the game was when I ran on his three deep R&D with only Mongoose but plenty of money on my last click. John Masanori was out so I needed to complete the run. He rezzed Veritas and Sapper was rezzed innermost so I let it all fire which was no big deal. Then he rezzed Cobra. I let the sapper kill my Mongoose since I had a Femme in hand but that could have been pretty bad. Ultimately won shortly after.
3rd Round: RP Prison - Win
Another match up where an early siphon or two fueled me to a win. Bio Ethics and Fetals kept the game interesting, but won in a few turns thanks to Leela's ability and Siphon's money. Aaron was big this game. I used him twice for Siphon tags and twice to keep me from dying before or after a run. Super important.
4th Round: Sleeper Hold - ID
We played this game for funsies and I can say with honestly I hate Sleeper Hold. All the ice is a pain in the ass. I can't click through any of it and some of it recurs those expensive things I just trashed. He doesn't even care much if I siphon since I can't do it enough to keep him from plodding on. Pretty miserable game and I may have stolen a single agenda.
1st Round of top cut: Sleeper Hold - Loss
First game in the cut was to this deck again. He chose corp as he should have and I felt like a dummy for playing that game. I did much better thanks to his only seeing Lotus Field and Magnet early (I fetched Passport) and then Vanilla later on (ez). I had RDI and was digging on RDI for a while until he installed a second ice. It could have been an Architect but I didn't check when he was low so that was my bad. My accesses on R&D were terrible. My accesses in HQ were better. This game ended 7 or 8 to 4 and they were hard fought points on both our parts. Good game.
Conclusions and potential changes
I like this deck a lot. With CTM's numbers dwindling the ability to peel away some of the board vs some of the more ice heavy corps is strong. I dropped a citadel for a second Aaron and it felt like it was a good call. I used Hostage a lot, though, for both the Aaron and the Kati. Don't know if it makes sense to make room for 2x of both by ditching the Masanori or stay as is.
I didn't see Gang Sign enough to notice those slots doing anything. They're ostensibly good with Leela cause it means your opponent has to play around them, but that's about it.
