Counterfeit

Cardsharp 1

Nasir has always appealed to me. As a result, he has been my primary runner since his release. I have played many different builds and have finally settled on one that achieved my vision of the a very strong Nasir deck. My goal was to create a deck that could turn every program I install and all the Corp's ice into potential credits.

Notable Excludes:

  1. Personal Workshop has long been a Nasir staple and you may seem to shy away from this list because it is missing. However, I wanted the star of the show to be Aesop's Pawnshop and I did not want to put too much reliance on a card that I may never see in a game. I urge fellow Nasir players to try this build before they trash the list because it doesn't include Personal Workshop. So where am I dumping my money if I am not playing Personal Workshop? Study Guide, Atman, Inti, and Self-modifying Code are all good outlets for my money if I am in a situation where I might lose a lot.

  2. Stimhack is not included because I am not using Personal Workshop and it lessened it effectiveness.

Economy:

Important cards include Cache, Magnum Opus, Order of Sol, and Aesop's Pawnshop. The most difficult part about this economy package is determining when to install magnum opus. I tend to install it as early as possible against fast scoring decks that play cheap ice like NEH and later in the game against glacier because their ice will keep me afloat for a bit. ALWAYS KNOW THE LOCATION OF YOUR PARASITE. The last thing you want to happen is get caught by a Pop-Up Window and lose 18 Credits. You can parasite cheap ice before you encounter it to insure the integrity of you bank.

Card Choices:

  1. Inti- Why 2 Inti and no Cerberus "Lady" H1? In my experience, Nasir has issues with small barriers like Ice Wall and Wraparound. I just do not want to use a Cerberus "Lady" H1 counter on those cheap pieces of ice. Parasite can handle Hive, Atman at 4 can handle Eli 1.0, and D4v1d can handle the big boys. The 'until the end of run' strength is more useful in Nasir than other ID's because you can pump the strength before encountering ice. If Inti just isn't being efficient for you anymore then just sell it to Aesop's Pawnshop. You could just play 2 Cerberus "Lady" H1 but I prefer Inti.

  2. Paricia may seem like an odd choice but it has done work for me in many games. If the Corp is using an asset strategy this card is bonkers. If they do not rely on assets as much then it just becomes Aesop's Pawnshop fodder.

  3. I prefer Magnum Opus over Armitage Codebusting because it has more longevity in the glacier match up. They both have their strengths and weaknesses but my preference is Magnum Opus because of its permanence and it can't get blown up if you are tagged.

I could spend all day talking about how to pilot this deck but I just wanted to hit on a few of my important decisions. You really have to dig in and just play Nasir to learn all of his tricks. This is a very fun and different deck to play and I hope you have fun with it.
